Abstract:
An exemplary pressure cavity is disclosed that is durable, stable, and biocompatible and configured in such a way that it constitutes pico to nanoliter-scale volume. The exemplary pressure cavity is hermetically sealed from the exterior environment while maintaining the ability to communicate with other devices. Micromachined, hermetically-sealed sensors are configured to receive power and return information through direct electrical contact with external electronics. The pressure cavity and sensor components disposed therein are hermetically sealed from ambient pressure in order to reduce drift and instability within the sensor. The sensor is designed for harsh and biological environments, e.g., intracorporeal implantation and in vivo use. Additionally, novel manufacturing methods are employed to construct the sensors.
Abstract:
A link latency management for a high-speed point-to-point network (pTp) is described The link latency management facilitates calculating latency of a serial interface by tracking a round trip delay of a header that contains latency information. Therefore, the link latency management facilitates testers, logic analyzers, or test devices to accurately measure link latency for a point-to-point architecture utilizing a serial interface.
Abstract:
System for message delivery to field personnel. The system includes a method for operating a server in a message delivery system. The method includes receiving a message for transmission to a recipient, and determining a message characteristic associated with the message. The method also includes obtaining contact information associated with the recipient based on the message characteristic, and transmitting the message to the recipient using a communication method indicated by the contact information.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a radiation sensitive liposome, and the use of this liposome as carrier for therapeutic and diagnostic agent(s). In particular, the invention encompasses a liposomal delivery system, comprising a stable liposome-forming lipid and a polymerizable colipid, a fraction of which polymerizable colipid polymerizes upon exposure to ionizing, radiation, thereby destabilizing the liposomal membrane. Destabilization of liposomes allows for leakage of liposomal contents. The present invention further contemplates methods of diagnosing and treating conditions and diseases that are responsive to liposome-encapsulated or associated agents.
Abstract:
A bin 1 mounted on wheels is disclosed. The bin 1 comprises a support 2 having a pair of wheels 3 mounted there to. The support 2 also has a brake that can be selectively engaged by an operator to brake the wheels. A bin container 5 is rigidly mounted on the support 2. The bin container 5 comprises a front and a rear 10 and 12 and two sides 13, 14 extending between the front and the rear. The rear 12 forms a tailgate that is capable of being moved from a closed position in which it closes off the front and sides and an open position in which it defines an opening in the wall. Material such as soil or refuse can be loaded into the bin container 5 and discharged from the bin container through this opening. The bin 1 includes a draw pole 25 for attaching it to a towing vehicle. The bin container 5 can be tipped from a travelling position to a rearward tipping position in which the bin container 5 slopes down in a rearward direction by applying the brake to the at least one wheel 3 and then displacing the draw pole 25 rearward. This causes the draw pole 25 to pivot the bin 1. The tailgate 12 also includes a chain extending from the draw pole 25 to the tailgate 12 that automatically moves the tailgate 12 from the closed to the open position in response to tipping of the bin container 5 into the rearward tipping position.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are disclosed herein that generally provide a new model for surgical support and management. Tasks typically performed in advance of and following a surgery can be performed in an automated and efficiency-optimized manner, particularly in the case of routine or straightforward surgical procedures. In one embodiment, the various parties involved in a surgery can access a surgical support and management system using one or more web pages. The system can perform various tasks associated with the surgical planning, inventory planning, intra-operative support, post-surgery logistics, and billing phases of surgical support and management.

Abstract:
A method of manufacturing a hermetically-sealed chamber with an electrical feedthrough includes the step of hermetically fixing an electrode to a substrate in a predetermined location on the substrate. A passage is formed through the substrate through the predetermined location such that at least a portion of the electrode is exposed to the passage. The passage is then at least partially filled with an electrically conductive material. A housing is then formed including the substrate such that the housing defines a chamber, with the electrode being disposed within the housing and the chamber being hermetically sealed. The electrode within the chamber can be placed in electrical communication with an exterior electrical component by way of the electrically conductive material in the passage.
