    摘要: Fatigue, the phenomenon of structural or system failure, caused by repeated excitations from high frequency noise or vibration levels, can occur without warning in inlet cowls, fan ducts and thrust reverser translating cowls of aero engines. In modern day nacelle and fan duct design, the use composite structures predominates and a composite structural component is provided which does not suffer or does not suffer the same extent from such potential fatigue problems. The structural component has a front face for exposure to fatigue generating energy and includes a composite frontal region which includes the front face and which comprises a matrix and a high fatigue-strength metal or metal alloy mesh embodied within the matrix or partially embodied within it at the front face. The matrix is in sheet form and comprises or includes a synthetic resin.

    摘要: This invention provides a method for synthesizing pure carboxyethyl germanium sesquioxide that does not include any toxic impurities, such as germanium dioxide or metallic germanium. Neither of these toxic compounds is used as a starting material. The method involves steps which ensure the full reaction of germanium tetrachloride in order to ensure that none is available to form germanium dioxide and steps which ensure the removal of any germanium dioxide.

    摘要: A non-aqueous liquid plaque adsorbent oral or effervescent dentifrice composition comprising a non-aqueous carbon dioxide source selected from bicarbonate salt, carbonate salt and mixtures thereof, a non-aqueous, water soluble acid source selected from organic acid, partial salt thereof and mixtures thereof, and a carrier adsorbent. Optionally, the composition can include flavoring agent, artificial, non-caloric sweetener, surface active agent, anti-bacterial agent, astringent agent, desensitizing agent, fluoride containing anti-caries agent, gelling agent, chloropyhyllin salt, coloring agent, hydrogen peroxide source and/or excipient. The effervescent dentifrice is preferably employed as one component of a kit also including a debriding product, a hydrogen peroxide product and a bicarbonate dentifrice, the components of the kit being used in combination on a daily basis to synergistically achieve enhanced preventative and remedial oral hygiene.
