Abstract:
Methods and systems for determining a real-time performance model of systems that process multi-class workloads. The methods can include collecting measurement data, selecting a series of prior time windows, processing the measurement data to compute a set of constraints based on the measurement data from the series of prior time windows, augmenting the set of constraints to a measurement model to obtain an augmented measurement model and running a modified extended Kalman filter with the augmented measurement model to obtain a state estimate.
Abstract:
An improved apparatus and method for position sensing of a medical tracker device are presented. The apparatus and method are designed to constrain, rotate, and track the position of a medical tool. To improve the position sensing of the tracker, a joint that provides two degrees of freedom may use a revolute gear pair together with a rotary sensor for angular motion sensing and a sliding/prismatic assembly together with a linear magnetic sensor for linear position sensing. Thus, the linear motion sensing and the angular motion sensing are decoupled.
Abstract:
An image guidance system is provided for improving tissue culture extraction where the tissue is extracted under the guidance of first and second knowledge-based systems. The first knowledge-based system provides initial suggested regions of interest for tissue biopsy in an internal organ. These regions of interest are then confirmed as being of interest of being benign by the second knowledge-based system. Information from two different sources may provide a more accurate, intelligent and robust method that helps in selecting biopsy sites accurately, such that suspicious regions are not overlooked and the benign regions are not unnecessarily operated upon. This not only helps in better diagnosis and treatment, but also helps reduce pain to the patient, in addition to reducing wastage of resources and invaluable time.
Abstract:
Systems and method are provided for registering medical images to reduce movement between the images. In one arrangement, a hierarchical image registration is performed where regions of the largest differences between images are identified and utilized to drive the deformation of one of the images. Such regions are identified in one arrangement by determining intensities and gradient magnitudes for corresponding regions of the images. In another arrangement, a multi-resolution registration strategy is applied.
Abstract:
Provided herein are devices and methods for mounting variously configured medical imaging probes (“ultrasound probes”) to a positioning device for imaging applications. One aspect provides a probe holder that has a recessed surface adapted to securely support a particular ultrasound probe for interfacing the probe with a positioning device. Another aspect provides a probe holder that interconnects with a flexible joint to allow the probe holder to securely support a variety of different ultrasound probes and interface those probes with a positioning device.

Abstract:
Disclosed is a disinfection arrangement (100) for disinfecting a chamber (132). The disinfection arrangement (100) includes an oxygen generation chamber (109) containing a mist generator (110) and a UV-C light source (118) positioned at an outlet of the oxygen generation chamber (109). The oxygen generation chamber (109) is configured to receive hydrogen-peroxide (H2O2) such that the received (H2O2) is exposed to the UV-C light source (118) at the outlet of the oxygen generation chamber (109) to convert the H2O2 into ozone for supplying the ozone to the chamber (132).
Abstract:
Devices and techniques for hardware accelerated packet processing are described herein. A device can communicate with one or more hardware switches. The device can detect characteristics of a plurality of packet streams. The device may distribute the plurality of packet streams between the one or more hardware switches and software data plane components based on the detected characteristics of the plurality of packet streams, such that at least one packet stream is designated to be processed by the one or more hardware switches. Other embodiments are also described.
Abstract:
A method to detect a phase separation of gasoline and ethanol may include the steps of generating a sound signal in a tank, determining a speed of the sound signal, determining an interface level in the tank, determining the speed of the sound signal below the interface level and determining the phase separation based upon the speed of the sound signal.
