Abstract:
Disclosed herein are the water clarification compositions and method of using the disclosed water clarification compositions for clarifying a water system or waste water source. Specifically, the disclosed compositions comprise and methods use multiple charged cationic or anionic compounds that are derived from polyamines through an aza-Michael addition with an activated olefin having an ionic group. The disclosed water clarification methods or compositions are found to be more effective than those methods or compositions including commonly used single quaternary compounds for reducing turbidity in water systems or waste water sources.
Abstract:
Detergent compositions effective for controlling hard water scale accumulation are disclosed. Detergent compositions employing phosphinosuccinic acid and mono-, bis- and oligomeric phosphinosuccinic acid (PSO) derivatives with alkali metal carbonate and/or alkali metal hydroxide reduce had water scale accumulation on treated surfaces at alkaline conditions between about pH of 9 and 12.5. Methods employing the detergent compositions and preventing hard water scale accumulation are also provided.
Abstract:
The invention includes ware detergent compositions which provides superior cleaning and removal of oily and fatty soils, without the production of excessive foam. According to the invention applicants have discovered that use of a quaternary cationic surfactant in combination with a nonionic low foaming surfactant can provide oily soil removal from ware that is superior to traditional warewash detergent formulations. Compositions for alkaline, preferably solid, warewash detergents are disclosed, as well as their use in dish machines and methods of manufacture.
Abstract:
Industrial 2-in-1 cleaning compositions providing both detergency and rinseability in a single cleaning composition comprising a polymer are disclosed. Alkali metal carbonate-based cleaning compositions and methods of both making and using the same provide user-friendly, solid, detergent compositions without the need for using a separate rinse aid composition. The compositions and methods are particularly well suited for use in industrial cleaning using alkali metal carbonate compositions that beneficially provide cleaning and rinseability in the rinse cycle.
Abstract:
Caustic-free detergent compositions are provided. Detergent compositions including an aminocarboxylate, water conditioning agent, non-caustic source of alkalinity and water beneficially do not require the use of additional surfactants and/or polymers to provide suitable detergency and prevent scale build-up on treated surfaces. The detergent compositions are used with a sanitizer to employ the caustic-free detergent compositions are particularly suitable for use as low temperature ware wash detergents that beneficially reduce scale build-up. Methods of employing the caustic-free detergent compositions are also provided.

Abstract:
Disclosed here are the methods of using one or more multiple charged cationic compounds in a corrosion control composition to reduce corrosion of metal surfaces in a water system. The multiple charged cationic compounds are derived from polyamines through a ring-opening reaction with an epoxide or two reactions: an aza-Michael addition with an activated olefin having a cation group and a ring-opening reaction with an epoxide. The disclosed methods or compositions are found to be effective than those methods or compositions including commonly used corrosion inhibitors for water systems.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are the methods of using specific multiple charged cationic compounds, which are derived from polyamines through an aza-Michael addition with an α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compound, in a clay treatment composition to reduces clay swelling, clay migration, and sludge formation in a subterranean formation in oil and gas operations. The disclosed methods or compositions are found to be more effective than those methods or compositions including commonly used for reducing clay swelling, clay migration, and sludge formation.
Abstract:
The invention relates to compositions, methods of manufacture, and methods for reducing metal corrosion during alkaline cleaning. In particular, the method employs a hydroxyphosphono carboxylic acid in alkaline cleaning of hard surfaces.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to quaternary ammonium disinfecting cleaner compositions comprising a quaternary ammonium compound, an antimicrobial amine, and an anionic scale inhibitor. Beneficially, the compositions provide sanitizing efficacy without diminished performance and without scale formation when diluted with hard water. The compositions are suitable for inactivating and/or reducing infectious agents, particularly Norovirus, Adenovirus, and Polyomavirus.
