Abstract:
A cleaning composition includes from 2 to 20 wt. % of a surfactant system by weight of the cleaning composition and from 0.1 to 10 wt. % of an alpha hydroxy acid by weight of the cleaning composition. The surfactant system includes alkyl polyglucoside surfactant, a co-surfactant including an ethoxylated alcohol, and less than 3 wt. % of anionic surfactant by weight of the cleaning composition. The pH of the cleaning composition is less than 6.
Abstract:
Cleaning compositions that include a non-functionalized alkyl polyglycoside, a nonionic surfactant system, and water. In certain embodiments, the cleaning compositions are substantially free of alkyl phenol ethoxylates. Additionally, some embodiments of the invention are substantially free of butyl cellosolve. The cleaning composition is capable of removing both proteinaceous food soils and hydrocarbon-based oily soils. The cleaning compositions include a biorenewable, environmentally friendly alternative to nonyl phenol ethoxylates and exhibit superior cleaning of food soils.
Abstract:
A neutral or acidic automatic dishwashing detergent composition including from greater than 10% to 50% by weight of the composition of an inorganic bleach and a cleaning agent selected from the group consisting of cleaning surfactants, soil suspending polymers and mixtures thereof and wherein the composition is free of bleach catalyst.
Abstract:
A composition for removing paint, ink or resin from an article comprising a first alkyl glycoside surfactant, a second alkyl glycoside surfactant, sodium hydroxide, and citric acid. Optionally, the sodium hydroxide and citric acid may be replaced by sodium citrate. Alternatively, the composition comprises an alkyl glycoside surfactant, an alkyl polyethylene glycol ether surfactant and a sodium citrate. The composition rapidly and efficiently removes paint, ink and resin from brushes, rollers, tools and equipment by dispersing the paint, ink and resin and has very limited environmental impact. The removed paint, ink or resin sediments and collects on the bottom of the container. The sedimentation can be sped up with the addition of a flocculent. The top layer of the solution may be removed and reused, while the bottom paint, ink or resin layer can be dried and disposed of as solid waste.
Abstract:
A composition is disclosed for cleaning a membrane. The composition includes: (i) a non-ionic surfactant having the formula: R—O(CH2CH2O)nH, wherein R is a branched, substituted or unsubstituted, C11-15 alkyl group, wherein n is an average degree of ethoxylation, and wherein n is in the range of from 3 to 20; and (ii) at least one of an additional non-ionic surfactant, a water soluble solvent, or a hydrotrope. In one version of the composition, an upper limit of a range of molecular weights of the surfactant is 1300 grams or below. In another version of the composition, the composition has a gel point such that it will be in the liquid phase before and after dilution with any amount of water at all temperatures of 40° F. and above. A method of cleaning a membrane using the compositions is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A detergent emulsifier for laundry and other hard surface cleaning using an APE-free surfactant blend is disclosed. The emulsifier system is efficacious for removal of oily soils and greasy food removal. The compositions according to the invention include linear and branched fatty alcohol ethoxylates and ethoxylate propoxylate block copolymers. Methods of using the same are disclosed.
Abstract:
The need for a liquid hard surface cleaning composition which provides improved shine, reduced slipperiness during drying, and also improved drying times is met formulating the composition using a ethoxylated alkoxylated nonionic surfactant, in combination with a detersive surfactant.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of washing animal fibers comprising contacting the animal fibers with a surfactant composition comprising a mixture of alcohol ethoxylate surfactants and optionally at least one propoxylated surfactant.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a surfactant composition containing a polyglycerol alkyl ether which is capable of exhibiting a high emulsification performance for silicone oils compounded in cosmetics, detergents, etc., by using a natural alcohol derived from oils and fats as a raw material thereof, a process for producing the surfactant composition in an effective manner, and a use of the surfactant composition. The present invention relates to [1] a surfactant composition including a specific polyglycerol monoalkyl ether (1) and a specific polyglycerol dialkyl ether (2), a mass ratio of [(1)/(2)] being from 65/35 to 75/25; [2] a process for producing the surfactant composition; [3] an emulsifier composition including the surfactant composition; and [4] a detergent composition including the surfactant composition.
