    Abstract: An ophthalmic element includes a vision base element and a film structure that is adhered to an optical surface of the vision base element, so that the film structure conforms to the optical surface. The film structure comprises at least one auxetic film that has a negative Poisson ratio. Using an auxetic film suppresses wrinkles, cracks and delamination that may appear in the ophthalmic element when the optical surface is synclastic.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a process for manufacturing an ophthalmic lens element equipped with an insert (1), this ophthalmic lens element comprising a front face and a back face, comprising steps consisting in: providing a first portion or intermediate product (2, 2″) made of a first material comprising a first and second frontal face (2A, 2B, 2A″, 2B″), said second face forming the back or front face of said ophthalmic lens element; placing the insert (1) on said first face of said intermediate product; depositing a second material in liquid form on said first face of the intermediate product (2, 2″) so as to cover at least partially said insert with said second material; and solidifying said second material in order to form an integral second portion (4) of said intermediate product. According to the invention, said first material is organic.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to an electrochromic solution and a use thereof, wherein the said solution comprises: a solvent; a thickening polymer agent having a molecular weight of at least 50,000 g/mol, preferably 200,000 g/mol, more preferably of at least 250,000 g/mol; at least an additive having a molecular weight between 300 and 50,000 g/mol, preferably between 320 and 20,000 g/mol; a redox chemical mixture in solution in said solvent said mixture being constituted of at least one electrochromic reducing compound and at least one electrochromic oxidizing compound, and which colors in the presence of an applied voltage and which bleaches to a colorless condition in the absence of an applied voltage. The invention further relates to a device comprising said solution.
