    Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to methods and systems for adjusting network speed to a gateway. The network speed adjustment system can include a gateway with the ability to manage a consumer-initiated temporary increase in network speed or network bandwidth. The network speed adjustment system can determine whether the provisioning system can support a network speed increase to the gateway. The provisioning system can measure the capacity of the network at the gateway location and determine whether the system can support providing the gateway with an increased network speed or increased bandwidth. When additional bandwidth capacity or network speed is available for a gateway location, a user can request the network increase by submitting a token via the gateway. The gateway can communicate with the provisioning system to increase the network speed according to the characteristics of the token.

    Abstract: A distributed storage system is provided on a wireless local area network formed by a plurality of peer mesh storage devices simultaneously wirelessly connected together. Each peer mesh storage device includes a computing processor, a communication transceiver, and a data storage drive. Upon receiving a first data file from a user device connected to the local area network at one of a plurality of peer mesh storage devices, the system stores the first data file on the data storage drive of one or more of the plurality of mesh storage devices. Upon receipt of a request from a user device for storage of a second data file on the system, the second data file is retrieved from storage on the data storage drive of one or more of the plurality of mesh storage devices and is transmitted over the local area network to the user device.

The system can include a gateway with the ability to support combining multiple network sources to increase the network speed or bandwidth from the gateway or selecting a redundant network source to increase the network speed or bandwidth for a particular application. The system can increase the network speed by adding a second network source for a particular application (e.g., video steaming, video call, etc.) or an application requiring lower latency than the current network source provides. The additional network source can send all the data packet traffic of the application or the application's traffic is split between the additional network source and the current network source of the gateway.

    Abstract: Systems, devices and methods are described for facilitating gateway prioritization. A system includes a gateway, a first node, and a second node coupled by an internal link. The gateway instantiates an allocator which allocates a link characteristic of the internal link based on a first resource request by the first node and in view of a second resource request by the second node. The requests identify a link characteristic for the internal link. The allocator allocates the link characteristic between the first node and the second node based on a ranking of the first node and the second node. The first link characteristic may be an internal link bandwidth. An ISP server is coupled by an external link to the gateway. The external link includes an external link characteristic which the first resource request identifies and the allocator allocates in view thereof.

    Abstract: Various arrangements involving an absolute direction of a remote control device are presented herein. In response to user input received by a remote control device, the orientation of the remote control device may be determined. A compass heading direction in which the remote control device is pointed may be determined. An absolute direction may be determined based on the determined orientation and the determined compass heading. A target control device may be selected from a plurality of target control devices based on the absolute heading of the remote control device. A message indicative of the user input may then be transmitted to the selected target control device.
