Abstract:
Methods for the use of peracid compositions having decreased hydrogen peroxide concentration and a UV-blocking agent for various water treatments, including oil- and gas-field operations, and/or other aseptic treatments are disclosed. In numerous aspects, peracetic acid is the preferred peracid and is treated with a peroxide-reducing agent to substantially reduce the hydrogen peroxide content. Methods for using the treated peracid compositions for treatment of drilling fluids, frac fluids, flow back waters and disposal waters are also disclosed for improving water condition, reducing oxidizing damage associated with hydrogen peroxide and/or reducing bacteria infestation
Abstract:
The present invention relates to apparatus and methods for making a peroxycarboxylic acid. The apparatus includes a reaction catalyst and a guard column for pretreating one or more reagents, which can increase the life, activity, and/or safety of the reaction catalyst. The peroxycarboxylic acid compositions made by the method and apparatus can include one or more peroxycarboxylic acids.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to compositions of peracids, such as peroxycarboxylic acids, having reduced odor compared to conventional peracid compositions. The invention further relates to methods employing such compositions, and methods of making these compositions. Typically, the reduced-odor antimicrobial compositions include an alcohol for the esterification reaction to remove short- to mid-chain length malodorous carboxylic acids.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to novel sulfoperoxycarboxylic acid compounds, and methods for making and using them. The sulfoperoxycarboxylic compounds of the invention are storage stable, water soluble and have low to no odor. Further, the compounds of the present invention can be formed from non-petroleum based renewable materials. The compounds of the present invention can be used as antimicrobials, and bleaching agents. The compounds of the present invention are also suitable for use as coupling agents.

Abstract:
The present disclosure relates generally to peroxyformic acid forming compositions and methods for forming peroxyformic acid, preferably in situ, and peroxyformic acid formed by said compositions and methods for the purpose of treating an animal tissue and providing an antimicrobial function thereon. present disclosure in particular relates to a residue-free teat treatment composition for the treatment of an animal tissue, especially bovine teats, which provides antimicrobial efficacy and does not leave a non-food ingredient residue on treated teats.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for temperature-controlled, on-site generation of peracids, namely peroxycarboxylic acids and peroxycarboxylic acid forming compositions are disclosed. In particular, methods for using an adjustable biocide formulator or generator system overcome the limitations of temperature on the kinetics of the peracid generation and/or peracid decomposition inside an adjustable biocide formulator or generator system. The methods include the controlling of the temperature of at least one raw starting material, namely water, to improve upon methods of on-site generation of peracids. The methods allow for the generation of user-selected chemistry without regard to the ambient temperatures of the raw starting materials and/or the biocide formulator or generator system.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a concentrate composition and its use solution for disinfecting and cleaning hard surfaces. The concentrate composition and the use solution comprise an alkylamidopropyl betaine, amphoteric surfactants and biocidal active substances at a moderately alkaline pH. The inventive composition is suitable for disinfecting and cleaning hard surfaces, in particular hard surfaces in contact with food products, such as surfaces found in food processing, manual warewashing, food services and health care industries. Methods of applying and making such concentrate composition and use solution are also provided.
