    摘要: Portions of a liquid crystal layer and an alignment layer in an LCD which are electrically connected to a scan signal line or to a gate electrode are protected from exposure. Such an LCD can be formed from a five step photo lithographic process. Pixel electrodes A11 and B11 are connected to a common display signal line Dm. TFTs M1 and M2 are connected in series between the pixel electrode A11 and the display signal line Dm. A TFT M3 is connected between the pixel electrode B11 and the display signal line Dm. TFTs M1 and M3 use a scan signal line Gn+1 as respective gate electrodes thereof. TFT M2 uses a scan signal line Gn+2′ branched from a scan signal line Gn+2 as a gate electrode thereof. The scan signal lines Gn+1 and Gn+2′ are arranged parallel to each other inside a display region. The semiconductor layer structure of the LCD is also disclosed.

    摘要: The present invention provides a high-resolution TFT liquid crystal display device having a structure capable of providing a high aperture ratio and high image quality which have been conflicted with each other in the conventional IPS mode TFT liquid crystal display device. The target of the present invention is a TFT liquid crystal display device which includes plural pairs of common busline 2 and gate busline 3 each extending in parallel to each other in a definite direction, plural source buslines 4 each extending in parallel to each other in such a direction as to intersect detachedly the common and gate buslines, sub-pixel aperture areas 5 each surrounded by the common busline, the gate busline and the source buslines, and Thin Film Transistors (TFTs) 6. In the present invention, the TFT has a source electrode 11 and a drain electrode 12 disposed in parallel to each other. The crosswise direction of a channel 13 formed by the parallel source and drain electrodes is parallel to the source buslines, and the width of the channel is approximately equivalent to the long side length of the sub-pixel aperture area.

    摘要: A circumferential area of a liquid-crystal cell is provided with a common wiring, a gate wiring, a source wiring, and an alignment film. The alignment film is insulated from the gate wiring and the source wiring by an insulating film. The common wiring is provided with a common-potential exposure portion through an opening formed on the insulating film and electrically connected with the alignment film. Because a common potential close to an average potential of cells is supplied to the alignment film, it is possible to prevent screen display troubles and deterioration caused by impurity ions remaining on the surface or the inside of the alignment film.

A method of manufacturing a display device comprising steps of: forming a wiring board having a lower conductive film, an insulating film and an upper conductive film in order on a substrate; repairing interlayer short being short between the upper conductive film and the lower conductive film; and forming display elements on the wiring board. Laser light having a pulse width of 10 picoseconds or less is irradiated to a short-included region including the interlayer short in the step of repairing the interlayer short in order to remove at least the upper conductive film between the lower conductive film, the insulating film and the upper conductive film within the short-included region.
