Provided is an apparatus for allocating a sequence to a synchronization channel for a node identification (ID), the apparatus including: a base node sequence generator to generate a base sequence that is a sequence for a node ID of a base node; a relay node sequence generator to generate a relay sequence that is a sequence for a node ID of a relay node by transforming the base sequence; a baseband signal generator to generate a baseband signal by mapping the base sequence or the relay sequence to a frequency domain and a time domain; and a transmitter to transmit the baseband signal.

Provided is an apparatus and method for wideband short-range wireless communication using a directional antenna in a millimeter wave band, and the method for wideband short-range wireless communication according to an embodiment may determine a first time interval and a second time interval for a cooperated data frame transfer based on a packet transmission time at each transmission from a source node to a destination node, transmit a frame to a relay node through an antenna pattern directed towards the relay node at a start point of the first time interval, and transmit the frame to the destination node through an antenna pattern directed towards the destination node after a predetermined period of time from a start point of the second time interval.

Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for estimating a parameter of a multi path signal. The apparatus for estimating a parameter of a multi path signal includes: a plurality of pre-processing units configured to pre-process respective reception signals received through a plurality of antennas; a plurality of parameter converting units configured to approximate a parameter set of the respective pre-processed reception signals to have a sparse characteristic in a Doppler frequency and angle of arrival domain; and a parameter estimating unit configured to estimate an angle of arrival for a plurality of reception signals in each frequency region of the Doppler frequency and angle of arrival domain.

A source station for synchronization of transmission and reception of data in a cooperative communication system includes a first receiver to receive, from a destination station, a first request frame including information regarding a first point in time when a first response frame is to be transmitted; a first transmitter to transmit the first response frame to the destination station, at the first point in time; a second transmitter to transmit, to a relay station, a second request frame including information regarding a second point in time when a second response frame is to be transmitted; a second receiver to receive the second response frame transmitted by the relay station at the second point in time; and a time estimator to estimate a first propagation delay time between the source station and the relay station, based on a time in which the second response frame is received.

Provided is a communication system for transmitting data using a plurality of interference-free communication channels. A transmission apparatus may inactivate a portion from among a plurality of transmit antennas and thereby group transmit antennas into a plurality of antenna groups. A channel formed between each antenna group and a reception apparatus may have a relatively low correlation and thus, the may be assumed to be independent. Accordingly, the transmission apparatus and the reception apparatus may transmit data using separate interference-free communication channels.

A method of operating a network coordinator for a spatial reuse scheme includes receiving a reservation request for a time period for a data communication of a target transmitter/receiver pair that uses a directional antenna, searching for a time period reserved in advance for another transmitter/receiver pair, from a Channel Time Allocation Period (CTAP) that is a contention-free access period for the data communication, and reserving a time period for the target transmitter/receiver pair in the CTAP, so that the time period reserved for the target transmitter/receiver pair overlaps the time period reserved in advance for the other transmitter/receiver pair.

The apparatus included in a base station includes: an antenna unit radiating a beam according to predetermined beam characteristics and transmitting a signal of the base station to a mobile terminal in a high speed moving body; a position searching unit detecting a distance, a speed, and a direction of movement between the base station and the mobile terminal; a beam setting unit grouping one or more beams according to the detected distance between the base station and the mobile terminal and setting the number of beam search groups in which a beam search is to be performed and a beam search period according to the detected speed and direction of movement; and a beam searching unit searching for the beam of the mobile terminal based on beam setting values set by the beam setting unit.
