摘要: An insertion device (10), by which a medical instrument or an electrode line or a guide wire or a medical therapeutic agent may be inserted into a body cavity, comprises a lumen section (11) manufactured from a flexible plastic material, having a longitudinal axis, a proximal end and a distal end, and a distal end area enclosing the distal end, at least one electrically conductive means (20) in the distal end area to sense physiological signals or stimulate the surrounding body tissue suitably, as well as at least one conductor, which extends from the proximal end to the distal end and is capable of conducting physiological signals to the proximal end and/or stimulation pulses to the distal end. The at least one electrically conductive means is produced from a flexible, not exclusively metallic, electrically conductive substrate.

摘要: The invention concerns a fixing for implantable electrodes and catheters. The object of the present invention is inter alia to provide a fixing which takes account of the different demands in the course of time of ordinary use of the implantable electrodes or catheters. For that purpose the fixing includes at least one first structural element comprising a biodegradable material, namely a biodegradable magnesium alloy.

摘要: The invention concerns a fixing for implantable electrodes and catheters. The object of the present invention is inter alia to provide a fixing which takes better account of the different demands in the course of time of ordinary use of the implantable electrodes or catheters. For that purpose the fixing is distinguished in that it includes at least one first structural element comprising a biodegradable material, namely a biodegradable magnesium alloy.

摘要: A method is described for the operation of a radiofrequency ablation instrument comprising a radiofrequency energy source having a plurality of regulatable outputs, with a plurality of electrodes being connectable to its outputs. A respective power value and/or current value representative of the power and/or the current transmitted by the radiofrequency energy source is detected for each output. The voltage delivered from the radiofrequency energy source is regulated in dependence on the detected power value and/or current value in such a way that the latter corresponds substantially to a predetermined power value and/or current value. A predetermined phrase relationship is in each case maintained between the currents or between the voltages at the outputs of the radiofrequency energy source. Furthermore, a corresponding apparatus is described.

摘要: Apparatus are provided for performing a procedure within a patient's body that include a tubular member including proximal and distal ends, a central axis or region extending therebetween, and a distal portion extending distally from an intermediate portion to the distal end. One or more accessory lumens and a steering element lumen extend between the proximal and distal ends, the steering element lumen offset from the central region within the distal portion such that a steering plane intersects the steering element lumen and the central axis. The distal portion includes a core member extending between the intermediate portion and the distal end, and stabilization elements embedded in the core member adjacent the accessory lumen and defining a stabilization plane that intersects the steering plane at a location offset from the central region, e.g., closer to the accessory lumen than the steering element lumen.
