    摘要: A direct-to-plate method of lithographic printing is disclosed which enables to recycle the lithographic substrate of the printing master. The method comprises the steps of (a) making a negative-working imaging material by coating on a hydrophilic substrate a coating solution comprising hydrophobic thermoplastic polymer particles and a hydrophilic binder; (b) making a printing master having ink-accepting areas by image-wise exposing the imaging material; (c) applying ink and fountain solution to the printing master; (d) removing the ink-accepting areas from the printing master by supplying an amide and preferably also an alkanolamine. The above steps are preferably carried out on-press.

    摘要: According to the present invention the storage stability of a diazo based imaging element can be improved by controlling the amount of free water in the imaging element. Thus the present invention provides an imaging element comprising on a support a hydrophilic layer containing a hydrophilic (co)polymer or (co)polymer mixture and having been hardened with a hydrolyzed tetraalkyl orthosilicate and a light sensitive layer containing a diazo resin or a diazonium salt characterized in that the total amount of free water in said imaging element satisfies the following formula (I):FW (g/m.sup.2).ltoreq.0.0043 * WS (g/m.sup.2)+0.46 (g/m.sup.2) (I)wherein FW represents the amount of free water and WS represents the weight of the support of the imaging element.

    摘要: A method of printing is disclosed which comprises the steps of (i) providing a lithographic printing plate precursor comprising a support and a heat- or light-sensitive coating; (ii) image-wise exposure of the coating to heat or light; (iii) prior to step (ii) or (iv), mounting the lithographic printing plate precursor in a printing unit of a printing press, said printing unit comprising a dampening system and an inking system; (iv) development by supplying a processing liquid to the coating by means of the dampening system, thereby obtaining a lithographic printing plate; (v) printing by supplying single-fluid ink or driographic ink to the lithographic printing plate by means of the inking system. This method allows on-press processing of printing plate materials that require wet processing.
