摘要： A dental handpiece having a holding sleeve, a driven shaft rotatable in the holding sleeve to drive a dental instrument, a driving device releasably connected to the holding sleeve and having a drive shaft which is drivingly connected to the driven shaft via a drive-transmission unit which is removably mounted in the holding sleeve. The unit comprises a bearing sleeve which houses one or more shafts, and optionally a ball-type planetary transmission, and is mountable in and removable from the holding sleeve through an end of the holding sleeve remote from the instrument end of the handpiece. The bearing sleeve is secured in the holding sleeve against axial and rotational movement relative to the holding sleeve.

摘要： A medical handpiece, and especially a dental handpiece, including a drivable worktool or implement which is rotatably supported with its shaft at one end of the handpiece and which projects from this handpiece end with its operating end. The implement possesses an elongate blind bore-like passageway which communicates with the outside at the work end of the implement through the intermediary of a discharge opening, and with which there is associated a supply line arranged within the handpiece for the infeed of cooling media to at least one radial through-opening of the implement which stands in communication with the elongate passageway; whereby the at least one radial through-opening is sealed with respect to the interior of the handpiece through the intermediary of a seal which encompassing the shaft of the implement and contacts against a wall portion of the handpiece.

摘要： A servicing composition which is sprayed from a container on or into a medical instrument e.g. a dental handpiece. The servicing composition includes an oil and propellant mixture for lubrication purposes but, for improved sterlizing purposes during subsequent hot-air heating and sterilizing of a medical instrument, an alcohol-aldehyde active substance combination in a proportion of 5 to 15% by weight is added to the mixture which is sprayed on the instrument. The preferred alcohol is isopropanol and the preferred aldehyde is formaldehyde or a succinic acid dialdehyde complex, and the preferred ratio of alcohol to aldehyde is 1:1.

摘要： A turbine insert for insertion into a head-housing of a turbine elbow for dental use includes a rotatable axle which has a plurality of turbine blades disposed thereon. One of the axle-ends is adapted to receive a dental tool and a threaded cap may be attached to the head-housing. Support means are provided for receiving the rotatable axis, and the other axle-end is rotatably supported in the threaded cap through the support means. A protective sleeve which surrounds the turbine blades is formed with an opening for the passage of compressed air for driving the turbine, and at least partially surrounds and rotatably supports the dental-tool receiving axle-end through the support means.
