    摘要: A liquid-cooled plate mold with adjustable width for the continuous casting of billets from steel in the form of slabs, particularly for a slab thickness of less than 100 mm. The shape-imparting broad side plates (1) and narrow side plates (2) of the ingot mold are constructed in the direction of their transverse extension so as to increase in cross section for the billet, while the narrow side plates (2) extend substantially parallel to one another along the height of the ingot mold. Further, the broad side plates (1) are constructed so as to be concave at least in a region (3) of smallest slab width in such a way that, in cross section, the apex height (13) of the ingot mold wall forming a curve has a determined height relative to a rectangle inserted in the drawing. The shape of the billet side plates at the billet outlet end (5) corresponds to the billet format to be produced.

To improve the flow conditions and hence the efficiency of the casting, the inlet side of the nozzle comprises an upper elongated section (12) in the form of a tubular shaft (11) which expands conically downward to a given plane and which is narrow in a plane perpendicular to the given plane.     摘要: Molten metal is introduced into a tubular mold and is withdrawn from the mold in the partly solidified state. There is included a sensor to measure the behavior of the metal strand as close as possible to the mold in order to control or regulate the drive unit for the withdrawal of the strand on a continuous casting machine. For a more precise determination of the actual conditions, the movement of the strand is measured in an area close as possible to the point where the strand leaves the mold. The measurement of the movement may be made in a non-contact and non-delayed manner by the sensor which responds to radiation. The sensor is designed and positioned so that it produces an evaluatable measurement signal in response to the displacement-time behavior of the strand. The measurement signal is transmitted to a display unit and/or evaluation unit for adjustment of the drive unit in order to obtain the desired speed of withdrawal.

    摘要: The invention is directed to an immersion casting pipe for feeding molten steel from a casting vessel into a mold having wide side walls and narrow side walls for the production of flat products. The immersion casting pipe has a pipe piece which adjoins the casting vessel and expands in cross section in the direction of the narrow side walls of the mold. The pipe piece is provided with a central base member at the lower end which allows for outlet openings for the melt. For the purpose of developing an immersion outlet which allows higher slab withdrawal speed of up to 6 m/min with slabs measuring 50 to 100 mm in thickness and 600 mm to 2000 mm in width, the inner wall of the portion of the immersion casting pipe which widens in cross section forms flow channels in conjunction with the opposite wall parts of the base member. The axes of the flow channels enclose an angle .alpha. between 10.degree. and 22.degree., where the smaller angle corresponds to a distance of approximately 600 mm between the narrow side walls of the mold and the larger angle corresponds to a distance of 2000 mm or more between the narrow side walls of the mold. The distance between the wide side walls of the mold is 50 to 100 mm.
