Abstract: A self-sealing window with a flexible gasket that extends around the entire perimeter of closure assemblies and a method of installing such closure assemblies in a rough opening. A sealing member is attached continuously around an entire perimeter of the closure assembly to form a water impermeable seal between the sealing member and the closure assembly. The closure assembly is inserted into the rough opening. Accurate positioning of the closure assembly in the rough opening is verified. The closure assembly is secured in the rough opening. The sealing member is engaged with an exterior surface of the structure proximate the rough opening. A foam material is delivered into at least a portion of a space between perimeter edge surfaces of the closure assembly and inner surfaces of the rough opening.

Abstract: A drainage system for a fenestration assembly is located in a rough opening of a structure. The drainage system includes a moisture barrier located between at least a bottom of the fenestration assembly and a bottom inner surface of the rough opening. The moisture barrier includes a vertical portion extending generally vertically downward below the rough opening on an external side of the structure. A channel assembly is located generally below the rough opening. The channel assembly includes at least one channel having a channel entrance proximate the bottom inner surface of the rough opening and a discharge opening direct toward a drainage area. The channel includes an effective cross-sectional area adapted to siphon water located on the moisture barrier to the drainage area.

Abstract: A window covering drive system mountable in a sash frame, such as an interior sash, for use in operating a window covering mounted to the sash. The drive system including a drive component couplable to the covering, the drive component including a belt and a belt tensioning mechanism providing pre-tension in the belt and sustaining tension during operation of the drive system. The drive system also including an operator assembly slidably mounted to the sash and coupled to the drive component, such that linear motion of the operator assembly results in movement of the belt and rotary action of the drive component to operate the covering. The drive system may include a frame connecting corner lock configured with features that couple to the drive component. Additionally, a covering operating mechanism may be included having a lift spool with a varying diameter about which a lift cord is wound and unwound.

Abstract: A window assembly having a window frame and at least one primary sash mounted in the window frame. The primary sash has a plurality of sash members forming a primary sash perimeter and a first glazing panel mounted in the primary sash perimeter. At least one secondary sash is pivotally attached directly to the primary sash perimeter along an interior surface thereof so that the secondary sash is rotatably movable between a closed position and an open position relative to the primary sash. The secondary sash has a plurality of secondary sash members forming a secondary sash structure and a second glazing panel mounted in the secondary sash perimeter. An air chamber is located between the primary sash and the secondary sash that is substantially closed to the interior of the building structure. At least one accessory channel is locating along at least one side of the secondary sash members.

Abstract: A lever latch secures a door panel of a cabinet or the like in a closed position relative to the frame. The lever latch is installed within an aperture formed in the door, and releasably retains the door against the frame when the door and the frame are latched together. The lever latch includes a housing for mounting in the door, a handle assembly which is pivotally attached to the housing, and rotatable between an opened and closed position, and a fastening member. The fastening member retains the door, when the door is closed against the frame, by engaging the frame as the handle assembly is rotated to the closed position. The housing, handle assembly and fastening member form an integral solid structure for preventing the passage of matter through the latch itself. The lever latch further includes a biasing member which is adapted to retain the handle assembly in the closed position, urge the handle assembly from the closed position to the opened position upon disengagement and provide initial accelerated movement to the handle assembly toward the opened position upon disengagement thereof. A trigger is also included for latching the handle assembly in the closed position, and unlatching the handle assembly from the closed position for movement to the opened position. The trigger which is integrally disposed within the central vicinity of the handle assembly provides increased mechanical advantage during the closing thereof.

Abstract: An over center draw latch with lock bolt action which performs the functions of both a bolt type latch and a draw type latch. The latch comprises a housing mounted on one panel, a lever rotatably mounted on the housing, a spring rotatably mounted on the lever and a keeper mounted on another panel. When the latch is fastened, the spring engages the keeper to thereby draw the panels together. In addition, a portion of the lever engages the keeper to provide a lock bolt action. In the closed position, the latch prevents relative movement of the panels in all directions.
