    摘要: A force resistant panel system is provided where a window pane is bordered by a sash and magnetically attracted to an exterior flange. The exterior flange is attached to an opening in a wall, facing outward. An interior flange with a channel is attached to the inside and facing inward. The exterior flange and interior flange combine to form a channel for which the window pane can travel in the event of a blast. Decorative trim snaps into a groove on the interior flange and generates static outward pressure against the sash.

    摘要: A glazing system for a wooden door or window employs coextruded vinyl trim strips which have a planar base with flexible compression members and flexible seal tubes and a projecting barb extending from the base. The trim strips engage in kerfs in the window sash and the seal tubes are compressed against the window lights by extruded aluminum trim caps which engage with the trim strip barbs and against the sash. Sashes which have more than one light separated by a wooden muntin are glazed with a vinyl extruded muntin strip which is attached to the muntin so that a flexible seal tube which is a part of the muntin strip base overlies the glass lights on each side of the muntin. An extruded aluminum muntin cap is snap-fit to the muntin strip such that the muntin strip seal tubes are compressed against the window glass. The aluminum muntin cap and trim caps substantially cover and shield the trim strips and muntin strips from exposure to sunlight.

The disclosure also includes the device including the elongated glazing stop that engages the panel and retains it upon a frame.

    摘要: A process of retrofitting an existing window that uses a gasket to secure a sacrificial member and a glazing. The sacrificial member forms a replaceable protective barrier between the glazing and occupants of a vehicle such as a bus. The gasket is traditionally used to secure the sacrificial member and the glazing to the window. Over time, after several removal and re-installations during replacement of the sacrificial member or the glazing, the gasket typically becomes unfit for subsequent use. The gasket is replaced with a rigid retainer member that fits into an existing recess that receives the gasket. The retainer member secures the sacrificial member and the glazing to the window so as to permit repeated changes of the sacrificial member without removal of the retainer member.

    摘要: A vehicle window assembly including a protective transparent plastic window liner covering the inner side of the glass pane and held removably in place by flexible liner-retaining strips having quarter-round molding portions overlying the margins of the liner and anchor portions that are releasably secured in mounting grooves along the edge portions of the window pane. The anchor portions are integral with the molding portions and are pressed into the grooves past detent ribs that lock the strips releasably in place, to secure the window liner against easy removal by a passenger but permitting removal by service personnel for replacement. The mounting grooves are in elongated window-retaining bars that are positioned against the inner side of the paneand also are removably secured in place for ease of reglazing, having enlarged deformable anchors pressed into locking grooves with restricted open sides forming releasable tongue-and-groove connections for removal by tilting of the bars. An alternative embodiment combines the liner-retaining strip with the window-retaining strip joined by an integral hinge, with a locking strip for holding the molding strip against the window liner.

    摘要: A snap fitted dual frame window assembly provides for convenient installation of a window in a basement foundation of a residential home. An outer frame is used as a form or spacer for the window during pouring of a concrete foundation wall and has a sloping recessed guiding wall to accommodate an inner vinyl frame. Vinyl frame clips are attached to the inside of the outer frame to secure the inner vinyl frame. The inner vinyl frame includes a channel section which can be forced over the frame clips and then is held, in a snap fit, by the frame clips. One arm of a hinged window sash is mounted on the inner frame and the other is mounted on a window frame. The inner frame can be easily removed from the outer frame and re-installed in different orientations.
