    摘要: A latch bolt engages a striker to releasably secure a first door to a vehicle body or a second door by relative displacement of the latch towards the striker. The latch bolt moves in a first plane to releasably retain the striker. The assembly includes a vertical wedge arrangement includes a first wedge surface on the latch and a second wedge surface on the striker. The first wedge surface and the second wedge surface cooperate to compensate for any misalignment and to prevent movement between the striker bar portion of the striker and a mouth of the latch in a direction parallel to the first plane. The latch is a plant-in latch, and the first surface is provided on a wedge plate securable to a shut face surface of the latch. The first wedge surface and the second wedge surface can be resilient.

    摘要: An improved latch housing comprising a striker receiving slot or recess opening through the latch housing for receiving a striker, (the latch housing for mounting a ratchet pivotable from an open position for receiving the striker to a closed position and a pawl for locking the ratchet in the closed (locked) position, the slot or recess having a mouth and two ends and being tapered from a broader portion (near the mouth) to a narrower portion (remote the mouth) intermediate its ends, the end of the recess proximate the broader tapered portion comprising a pair of parallel spaced walls extending towards the mouth from proximate the broader portion and the end of the recess proximate the narrower portion (remote the mouth) comprising a pair of spaced walls which are parallel to one another when the striker is secured in the striker receiving recess of the latch housing. The latch housing is for use with a tapered striker.

    摘要: A remotely actuated solenoid latch apparatus adapted for use in motor vehicle applications is disclosed. The solenoid latch apparatus includes a solenoid having an armature movable between a first position displaced from a pole piece to define a working air gap therebetween to a second position attracted toward the pole piece. A solenoid winding encircles the pole piece and the armature for attracting the armature toward the pole piece upon energization thereof. A latch member is associated with the movable armature for lockingly engaging a striker bar when the armature is in one position and releasably disengaging the striker bar when the armature is in the other position. The present invention is self-compensating to align the latch member relative to the striker bar, prior to engagement therewith, to compensate for alignment variation between the latch member and the striker bar. The pole piece is movable to provide a relatively constant air gap upon alignment of the latch member relative to the striker bar when the armature is displaced from the pole piece.
