    Abstract: This document describes techniques and systems that enable a base-station-initiated grant revoke. The techniques and systems allow a base station to generate and send a grant-revocation message (GRM) to a user equipment (UE) to revoke a scheduled uplink (UL) or downlink (DL) grant from the base station. The base station can transmit the GRM to the UE using a variety of techniques. For example, based on a trigger event, the base station may assign a UE identifier, such as a specific radio network temporary identifier (RNTI), to the UE and transmit the GRM to the UE using a revoke-physical-downlink-control-channel (R PDCCH) transmission that is associated with the UE identifier. These techniques allow the base station to revoke a scheduled UL or DL grant, which can enable the UE to quickly address timing-critical resource allocation issues and mitigate the effects of adverse operating conditions.

    Abstract: Techniques and apparatuses are described for adapting an end-to-end, E2E, machine-learning, ML, configuration for processing communications transferred through an E2E communication. A network entity directs a user equipment (UE) and a base station participating in the E2E communication to implement the E2E communication by forming at least a portion of an E2E deep neural network, DNN, based on a first E2E ML configuration. The network entity determines to update the first E2E ML configuration based on a change in a participation mode of an edge compute server (ECS) in the E2E communication. The network entity identifies a second E2E ML configuration based on the change in participation mode and directs the UE or the base station to update the portion of the E2E DNN using the second E2E ML configuration.

    Abstract: Techniques and apparatuses are described for user equipment-coordination set (UECS) federated learning for deep neural networks (DNNs). A coordinating user equipment (UE) in a UECS communicates (1505), to at least a subset of UEs in the UECS, one or more update conditions that indicate when to generate updated ML configuration information for a respective DNN that processes UECS communications. The coordinating UE then receives (1510) one or more reports that include the updated ML configuration information from respective UEs of at least the subset of UEs. In aspects, the respective UE generates the updated ML configuration information using a training procedure and local input data. The coordinating UE determines (1515) a common UECS ML configuration by applying federated learning techniques to the updated ML configuration information and directs (1520) at least one UE in the subset to update the respective DNN using the at least one common UECS ML configuration.

    Abstract: This document describes improvements in management of data traffic of user equipment between cellular and non-cellular accesses in fifth generation new radio, 5G NR, wireless networks. An energy-aware traffic manager is introduced to manage data traffic communicated by the user equipment over the cellular access and the non-cellular access, such as a wireless local area network, WLAN. The energy-aware traffic manager enables reporting of energy-related information by user equipment, energy-aware traffic management modes for the user equipment, and access management in response to critical events related to user equipment energy, as well as reporting of changes in the user equipment access management or access management modality to core network entities. By so doing, the energy-aware traffic manager enables data traffic management based on aspects of user equipment energy, which may reduce user equipment energy consumption associated with communicating data over multiple accesses and extend battery life of the user equipment.

    Abstract: Techniques and apparatuses are described for user equipment-coordination set, UECS, hybrid automatic repeat request, HARQ, that establish a HARQ timeline that is specific to the capabilities of a respective UECS. Compared to a single user equipment, UE, the HARQ timeline for a UECS depends on a number of factors, such as the joint processing capability in the UECS, latency of communication over a local wireless network between the UEs in the UECS, or the like. Based on its capabilities, the UECS can request uplink and/or downlink processing delay times or a UECS-specific HARQ timeline from a base station. The base station grants the uplink and/or downlink processing delay times or the UECS-specific HARQ timeline to the UECS in a layer-1, layer-2, or a layer-3 control message. The use of a UECS-specific HARQ timeline increases the reliability of HARQ signaling for uplink and downlink communication between the UECS and a base station.

    Abstract: The subject matter described herein provides systems and techniques to automatically configure a proximal device, such as a smart watch, a tablet, or any other smart device, based on configuration information sent from the user equipment (UE) to the proximal device when the local communications connection, such as a wireless connection, between the devices is weak.     Abstract: A user equipment (UE) manages thermal levels of antenna modules with reference to a temperature threshold. The UE includes multiple antenna modules having a first antenna module and a second antenna module and at least one wireless transceiver coupled to the multiple antenna modules. The UE also includes a processor and memory system implementing an antenna module thermal manager. The manager is configured to obtain a first temperature indication corresponding to the first antenna module of the multiple antenna modules. The manager is also configured to perform a comparison of the first temperature indication to at least one temperature threshold. The manager is further configured to switch, based on the comparison, from using the first antenna module to using the second antenna module for wireless communication with the at least one wireless transceiver.
