    摘要: Disclosed are methods of producing super-absorbing polymeric networks of polyaspartates from crosslinked polysuccinimide. In one preferred aspect, polysuccinimide is first reacted with an organic crosslinking agent, preferably an organic base containing at least two primary amine groups, to form a gelled crosslinked polysuccinimide. The gelled crosslinked polysuccinimide is then base hydrolyzed to a gelled polymeric network of polyaspartate and deswollen with at least one liquid alcohol to a polymeric network of polyaspartate which demonstrates super-absorbing capability in water and in electrolyte solution. Super-absorbing polymeric networks of polyaspartates can also be produced in a single reaction vessel by sequentially crosslinking a polysuccinimide with an organic crosslinking agent in an aqueous reaction medium, optionally containing a mineral acid, and then hydrolyzing the crosslinked polysuccinimide to produce a polymeric network of polyaspartate.

An adhesive coated patch may be applied after a notch is cut in the beam or fibers may be attached to a beam at a factory near the location of an anticipated notching.

    摘要: A wooden panel door reinforced against attempted break-in contains layers of fiberglass mat and decorative wooden facing strip bonded to the doorjamb and stiles. The stiles and doorjamb are constructed from wood with grain that runs primarily in a single direction, and reinforcing these stiles and doorjambs against impact can be achieved by bonding to them a fiberglass mat, which contains fibers running in transverse directions. The fiberglass mat is in turn covered by a decorative wooden facing strip layer.

    摘要: A check processing module (CPM) is provided for a self-service check depositing terminal. The CPM comprises a substantially U-shaped plastic guide including (i) first and second leg portions forming the substantially U-shape, (ii) a surface which forms an opening in the first leg portion, and (ii) a releasing member which is disposed on the second leg portion. The CPM further comprises a shaft assembly including (i) a plastic shaft having opposite end portions and a central portion between the opposite end portions, (ii) a number of drive rollers disposed on the central portion, (iii) a first plastic race bearing attached to one end portion of the plastic shaft and disposed in the opening of the plastic guide, and (iv) a second plastic race bearing attached to the other end portion of the plastic shaft and secured by the releasing member to the plastic guide. The releasing member is operable to secure the shaft assembly to the plastic guide during operation of the CPM, and is operable to release the shaft assembly from the plastic guide during disassembly of parts of the CPM.
