摘要： The subject of the invention is an agent for the permanent shaping of hair, characterized in that it contains as active keratin-reducing substance a compound in accordance with the general formula ##STR1## in which R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 stand for H, carboxy or a straight- or branched-chain alkyl radical, monohydroxyalkyl radical or polyhydroxyalkyl radical with 1 to 6 carbon atoms respectively, on the condition thatnot all radicals R.sub.1 to R.sub.3 stand for H at the same time;if R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 stand for H, then R.sub.3 is carboxy or a branched alkyl, branched monohydroxyalkyl or branched polyhydroxyalkyl radical with 1 to 6 carbon atoms;if none of the radicals R.sub.1 to R.sub.2 stand for carboxy or have a branched alkyl, branched monohydroxyalkyl or branched polyhydroxyalkyl radical with 1 to 6 carbon atoms, then at least two of the radicals R.sub.1, R.sub.2 or R.sub.3 stand for a straight-chain alkyl, monohydroxyalkyl or polyhydroxyalkyl radical with 1 to 6 carbon atoms andif one of the radicals is carboxy, then the other two radicals are not carboxy at the same time.The agent allows for gentle, even shaping of the hair in a way that protects the skin and the hair, at a pH range of 6.5 to 9.5, without causing allergic and sensitizing reactions.

摘要： The aqueous permanent shaping composition has a pH of 6.5 to 9.5 and contains water, from 3 to 28 percent by weight of one or more mercaptoethylamines of the formula IHS--CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --NR.sub.1 R.sub.2 (I),wherein R.sub.1 represents hydrogen, a straight or branched chain alkyl, hydroxyalkyl or polyhydroxyalkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms; R.sub.2 represents a cyclohexyl group, a furfuryl group, a straight or branched chain hydroxyalkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms or a polyhydroxyalkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms; or wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 together with the nitrogen atom form a five or six membered ring containing, or not containing, another heteroatom and the five or six membered ring is substituted with a hydroxyl group, a carboxyl group or with one or two alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, polyhydroxyalkyl or alkoxycarboxyl groups having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms; or at least one physiologically compatible salt thereof; and one or more additive ingredients, which can be a surfactant or emulsifier, alcohol, sugar, solvating agent, stabilizer, buffer substance, perfume oil, dyestuff, hair conditioning or care ingredient.

摘要： The method of skin care includes applying a skin care preparation to the skin of an individual in an amount sufficient to moisturize the skin or to cause a reduction of skin wrinkling and a smoothing of the skin. The skin care preparation has a pH value of 1 to 7 and contains from 0.1 to 20 percent by weight of at least one betaine ester of formula (I)R.sub.1 --O--CO--CH.sub.2 --N.sup.+ (CH.sub.3).sub.3 A.sup.-(I),wherein R.sub.1 is a branched or straight chain alkyl group having from 10 to 30 carbon atoms and A- is a cosmetically acceptable anion; andfrom 0.05 to 20 percent by weight of at least one .alpha.-hydroxy acid present as a free acid, or in a lactone form thereof, or as a skin-compatible salt thereof with an organic base or an inorganic alkali, and/or as stereoisomers thereof, as D, L, and/or DL form. The at least one .alpha.-hydroxy acid is selected from the group consisting of alkyl .alpha.-hydroxy acids, aralkyl .alpha.-hydroxy acids, aryl .alpha.-hydroxy acids, polyhydroxy .alpha.-hydroxy acids and polycarboxylic .alpha.-hydroxy acids represented by the following chemical structure: ##STR1## wherein Ra and Rb represent, independently of each other, H, F, Cl, Br, an aryl group, an aralkyl group made from an aryl group and an alkyl radical having 1 to 25 carbon atoms, a saturated or unsaturated, straight or branched chain alkyl group having 1 to 25 carbon atoms, a cyclic group having 5 or 6 members including carbon atoms, with the proviso that Ra and Rb are not the same, and the aryl, arylalkyl and alkyl groups may have at least one substituent selected from the group consisting of OH, CHO, COOH and alkoxy groups having from 1 to 9 carbon atoms.

The composition provides clear, smooth films, which are neither sticky in moist climate, nor brittle in dry climate. Also disclosed are new chitosan/polyampholyte salts, obtained by reaction of chitosan with an ampholytic copolymerizate of formula (I).
