Abstract: In embodiments of the present disclosure, a method is provided for managing a mesh point. A request is transmitted from a mesh point to a mesh portal, and the request indicates that Reduced Neighbor Report (RNR) information is required. A beacon with the RNR information is received from the mesh portal. A mesh link is established with a target mesh portal based on the beacon with the RNR information. Therefore, the time cost and the data communication of a scanning procedure of the mesh point may be greatly reduced. Further, communications in the scanning procedure are lowered, such that conflicts in the air may be alleviated.

Abstract: In embodiments of the present disclosure, there is provided an approach for connecting an access point (AP) to a wireless multi-hop network. An electronic device obtains device information of the AP in a wireless manner, and the electronic device and the AP can establish a wireless trusted connection based on the device information. Then, the electronic device transmits a configuration to the AP over the wireless trusted connection, wherein the configuration at least indicates an identifier of a wireless multi-hop network and a network role of the AP in the wireless multi-hop network. The AP then connects to the wireless multi-hop network according to the configuration. Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a wireless trusted way to provision an AP, which requires little manual intervention and technical expertise, while ensuring the safety of the provisioning.

Abstract: An example method of controlling a wireless access point may include associating accumulated-channel-resource-consumption variables with, respectively, resource consumers of the wireless access point. The method may further include, for wireless communications of the wireless access point: determining a number of spatial streams effectively consumed by the respective wireless communication; determining an operational bandwidth effectively consumed by the respective wireless communication; determining a duration of the respective wireless communication; determining a channel-resource-consumption amount for the respective wireless communication based on the number of spatial streams effectively consumed by the respective wireless communication, the operational bandwidth effectively consumed by the respective wireless communication, and the duration of the respective wireless communication; and determining values for the accumulated-channel-resource-consumption variables by accumulating the channel-resource-consumption amounts per resource consumer. The method may further include determining whether to impose channel access restrictions on the resource consumers based on their respective accumulated-channel-resource-consumption variables.

Abstract: In embodiments of the present disclosure, there is provided an approach for aligning target beacon transmission time (TBTT) for multi-link connection. A method comprises setting up a first link and a second link between an access point (AP) and a wireless device based on multi-link operation (MLO), and obtaining a first TBTT of the first link and a second TBTT of the second link. The method further comprises aligning the first TBTT and the second TBTT at a start time, and then transmitting beacon frames on the first link and the second link according to the aligning of the first TBTT and second TBTT. Embodiments of the present disclosure synchronize and align the beacon TBTTs for different links, and can reduce the wake-up time on all active links, thereby saving power for the wireless device.

Abstract: Examples described herein relate to a method for managing association of a client device with a virtual access point (VAP) hosted on an access point (AP). The method includes monitoring, by the AP, data traffic corresponding to the client device associated with a first VAP. The first VAP is mapped to a first Multiple Basic Service Set Identifier (MBSSID) set configured with a first quality of service (QoS) parameter. The AP also hosts a second VAP mapped to a second MBSSID set configured with a second QoS parameter. Further, the AP determines a communication demand of the client device based on the data traffic. Furthermore, the AP steers the client device to the second VAP based on the communication demand and the second QoS parameter, and communicates with the client device through the second VAP.

Abstract: Implementations of the present disclosure relate to resource allocation for clients of multiple co-hosted virtual access points (VAPs). A method comprises determining, by an access point (AP), a plurality of trigger frames for a plurality of clients connected to a plurality of VAPs of the AP based at least in part on respective workload levels of the plurality of clients. A trigger frame indicates a resource unit of one of the plurality of VAPs available for at least one corresponding client to access to the VAP. The method also comprises transmitting, by the AP, the plurality of trigger frames in parallel to the plurality of clients. By transmitting separate trigger frames for different clients in parallel, the efficiency of trigger frames can be improved and higher quality of service and lower collision will be provided.

Abstract: In embodiments of the present disclosure, there is provided an approach for managing Target Wake Time (TWT) clients in a congested environment. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, a TWT client transmits, to an AP, a request to negotiate a schedule for a TWT session. The request comprises a first set of TWT parameters requested by the TWT client. The AP determines, based on respective sets of TWT parameters of existing TWT sessions and the first set of TWT parameters, a second set of TWT parameters for the TWT client to minimize overlap between the TWT session and the existing TWT sessions. The AP transmits a response comprising the second set of TWT parameters to the TWT client. Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an effective way for assigning air resources to multiple TWT clients in a congested environment, thereby reducing collisions among TWT sessions.
