In some examples, device is configured to determine an estimated remaining use of a brake assembly. The device includes a transceiver configured to transmit a signal towards a wear pin in the brake assembly at a first time. The transceiver is also configured to receive a reflection of the signal from the wear pin at a second time. The device further includes processing circuitry configured to determine a difference of the first time and the second time. The processing circuitry is also configured to determine the estimated remaining use of the brake assembly based on the difference of the first time and the second time.

Apparatus for determining concentration of a targeted gas in environmental air, the apparatus includes a non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) sensor, a pressure sensor coupled in fluid communication with an interior of the NDIR sensor; and a processor. The processor is configured to receive pressure data from the pressure sensor based on gas pressure within an interior of the NDIR sensor, receive a target-gas concentration signal from the NDIR sensor, and produce a pressure-compensated concentration signal based on the target-gas concentration signal, a predetermined reference pressure and the pressure data from the pressure sensor.

Methods and systems for updating an airfield lighting system with an LED light source are described herein. One method includes removing a light source from an existing light fixture of an airfield lighting system, wherein the removed light source is not a light emitting diode (LED) light source, and replacing the removed light source with an LED light source in the existing light fixture without modifying or replacing any other element of the existing light fixture.

In some examples, a system includes a magnet configured to move in response to a movement of a wear pin indicator of a brake assembly of a vehicle; and a sensor configured to generate position data corresponding to the magnet, the position data indicating a relative linear position of the wear pin indicator, wherein the position data corresponds to an estimated remaining useful lifespan of the brake assembly. Additionally, the system includes an energy harvesting device configured to generate an electrical signal based on an operation of one or both of the brake assembly and the vehicle, wherein the energy harvesting device is configured to deliver at least a portion of the electrical signal to the sensor.
