    摘要: In an image forming apparatus, a magnet brush forming device includes at least a first magnetic pole facing an image carrier carrying a latent image and a second magnetic pole positioned downstream of the first magnetic pole in the direction of rotation of a developer carrier. When a magnet brush formed on a developer carrier by the first magnetic pole forms a nip between it and the image carrier, flux density in the direction normal to the developer carrier has an attenuation ratio of 40% or above. The second magnetic pole has an upstream half-value point located downstream of a point upstream of and angularly spaced from the edge of a developer storing member by 15°. Flux density in the normal direction and flux density in the tangential direction between the first and second magnetic poles have vectors the sum of which is 85 mT or above.

    摘要: An image forming method and apparatus in which collected toner removed from a photoconductive medium by a cleaning device is conveyed to a developing device. The conveying device includes a powder pump having a rotor and a stator configured to convey the collected toner in an coaxial direction of said rotor. An air flow is supplied to the powder pump by way of an air pump, where the air is conveyed in a tube with the collected toner. The tube is connected to the developing device so that the collected toner is recycled. When the developing device is replenished with fresh toner from a toner bottle, the air pump stops supplying the air flow to the powder pump so as to prevent toner from scattering within the image forming apparatus from an opening of the developing device.

    摘要: A developing apparatus for use in an image forming apparatus includes a developer bearing member having a magnetic field generating device internally and configured to bear and convey two-component developer including toner and magnetic carrier, a first regulating member configured to regulate an amount of the developer born and conveyed by the developer bearing member, a developer container section for storing the developer scraped off by the first regulating member, a second regulating member arranged upstream of the first regulating member in a conveying direction of the developer on the developer bearing member, and a toner container section for supplying toner to the developer bearing member. The developing apparatus changes a toner take-in condition of the developer on the developer bearing member by changing a contact condition between the developer and the toner according to a change of a toner density of the developer on the developer bearing member. A surface of the second regulating member facing the developer bearing member has an area large enough to unify a layer thickness of the developer on the image bearing member in the axial direction of the developer bearing member.

    摘要: An image recording apparatus for recording an image directly on a recording medium by transferring a toner to the medium. The toner is caused to fly toward the medium by small energy to form a high resolution image. A developing roller transports the toner in a predetermined direction. A flat electrode is located in the vicinity of the developing roller. A control electrode is provided on the flat electrode at a position where the flat electrode is remotest from the developing roller, while being electrically insulated from the flat electrode. The control electrode is made up of a number of recording electrodes and has an opening through which the toner may fly toward the medium.

    摘要: A developing system includes a first developer carrier to carry and supply two-component developer including toner and carrier to a latent image formed on an image bearer. A first magnetic field generator having plural first magnetic poles is rotatably installed in the first developer carrier and causes the two-component developer to put forth ears and conveys the two-component developer on the developer carrier. A cross-sectional center of the first magnetic field generator is deviated from that of the first developer carrier toward the image bearer by a prescribed length. A developer peel-off device including a second magnetic field generator is provided in the vicinity of the surface of the first developer carrier to peel off the developer not supplied to the image bearer and remaining on the surface of the first developer carrier.
