    摘要: The discharge lamp of the invention includes a main discharge vessel which is filled with a discharge medium for the main discharge via a pair of opposed main discharge electrodes, and has a first electrode sealing part and a second electrode sealing part for connecting the pair of main discharge electrodes. The advantage of the invention is in a starting electrode arranged such that it does not come into contact with the main discharge space, and an auxiliary light source which includes an auxiliary discharge vessel located adjacent on the side of one of the electrode sealing parts and which is not made integral with the electrode sealing parts. The auxiliary light source is filled with a discharge medium, and has a first outer electrode on the outside of the auxiliary discharge vessel.

    摘要: A low cost DC-DC converter which facilitates a reduction of the switching loss in a wide, variable range of the continuity ratio of the main switching device includes a direct current source; an ON-OFF-controllable main switching device; a main coil which is series connected to the main switching device; a fly-wheel diode which is arranged such that the induction current of the above described main coil flows when the main switching device is shifted into the OFF state; a smoothing capacitor for smoothing the output of the main coil; an auxiliary coil, a resonant capacitor and an ON-OFF-controllable auxiliary switching device. The main switching device and the auxiliary switching device are controlled such that each are alternatively shifted into the ON state such that the main switching device is shifted into the ON state within a given time after the auxiliary switching device has been shifted into the OFF state.

    摘要: The carbon fiber precursor fiber bundle of the present invention is an acrylonitrile-based fiber bundle wherein the ratio of the length and width of the fiber cross section of a monofilament (length/width) is 1.05 to 1.6, and the amount of Si measured by ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma) atomic emission spectrometry is in the range of 500 to 4,000 ppm. This type of carbon fiber precursor fiber bundle has a high compactness, and the carbonizing processing ability is good. Furthermore, for the carbon fiber bundle which is to obtained hereafter, the resin impregnating ability and tow spreading ability are good, the strength increases, and it has bulkiness. Furthermore, the carbon fiber precursor fiber bundle of the present invention is an acrylonitrile-based fiber bundle wherein the liquid content ratio HW is 40 wt. % or more and less than 60 wt. %. The carbon fiber bundle obtained from this type of carbon fiber precursor fiber bundle improves the bulkiness and is superior in resin impregnating ability, tow spreading ability, and covering ability when made into cloth.

    摘要: A sheet-shaped photoconductor composed of a plurality of optical fibers is prepared by melt-spinning a spinning dope into optical fibers and, before the as-spun fibers are completely solidified, bonding the fibers to one another along the entire length thereof. The melt-spinning is carried out using a nozzle having a plurality of annularly arranged orifices. The as-spun fibers are arranged linearly in parallel to but not in contact with one another by using a grooved guide, and then the optical fibers are brought into contact with and fusion-bonded to one another by using a fusion bonding guide having a concave curved face in the central portion thereof, and the thus-formed sheet-shaped photoconductor is taken up.

    摘要: An image scanning and recording system includes a recording unit for duplicating and recording halftone images on a photosensitive material. The recording unit comprises an acousto-optic light modulating element including a plurality of ultrasonic wave exciting portions disposed side by side on a single acousto-optic medium. The ultrasonic wave exciting portions independently, modulate incident light into a plurality of modulated light beams in response to image signals from photoelectrical scanning means. A scale-down optical system then reduces the diameter of the plurality of modulated light beams, and a plurality of light transfer elements transfer the light beams from the scale-down optical system to a focussing lens system to be projected therefrom onto a film mounted on a recording cylinder.

When lighting the discharge lamp, a sequence of the gate signal corresponding to an alternating repetition of the ON and OFF states of the switching element is generated. Before outputting the starting signal, the switching element is ON as a stand-by state. Then the sequence starts when the starting signal is outputted.
