    摘要: A foamed liquid coating apparatus prevents curling or warping of a sheet caused by coating irregularities when coated with a preprocessing solution using a coating roller or a liquid discharge head. The foamed liquid coating apparatus includes a container holding a liquid that can be foamed. A first foamed liquid producing/transporting unit produces a foamed liquid having a foam size greater than a required foam size from the liquid supplied from the container. A second foamed liquid producing/transporting unit produces a foamed liquid having the required foam size from the foamed liquid produced by the first foamed liquid producing/transporting unit. The foamed liquid produced by the second foamed liquid producing/transporting unit is applied onto a first coating roller. The foamed liquid is further supplied from the first coating roller to a second coating roller that coats a sheet with the foamed liquid.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a plurality of image carrier units and a position determining unit. The image carrier units form toner images in a sequential manner, and each of the plurality of image carrier units includes an image carrier and a supporting member to support the image carrier. The position determining unit includes a holding member having a plurality of openings for receiving the supporting members of the respective image carriers and a pressure mechanism. Each of the plurality of openings has a predetermined shape to sustain a weight of a corresponding one of the plurality of image carrier units through a corresponding one of the supporting members in a vertical direction and to grip the corresponding one of the supporting members in a horizontal direction. The pressure mechanism presses the supporting members held through the plurality of openings of the holding member to fix the image carriers at respective specific positions.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit for forming an image on a medium; and an application device for applying a treatment liquid to the medium. The application device includes a conveying roller; an application roller for applying the liquid; a squeeze roller for reducing the thickness of the liquid on the application roller; and a tray for supplying the liquid to the squeeze roller. In the application operation, the application and squeeze rollers come in contact, and a valley formed by these rollers faces upward. In the standby condition, at least one of the application and squeeze rollers is moved to such a position that the valley faces laterally. The tray always covers the lower side of the application and squeeze rollers in regions near the longitudinal end portions of the application roller, which end portions do not come in contact with the conveying roller.
