    摘要: A dental article is fabricated from an SMC material using three-dimensional data captured from natural dentition to guide a computer-controlled milling machine. The three-dimensional data may include scans of an original tooth structure and a prepared tooth surface to characterize all surfaces of a dental article, or certain features may be created within a computer-assisted design environment taking account of occlusion, proximal contacts, and the like. In addition the model applied to a computer-controlled milling machine may account for shrinkage of the SMC material during any post-milling curing steps in order to ensure an accurate fit to the prepared tooth surface.

Such materials and compositions can preferably be hardened, without undue shrinkage, to provide hardened materials and/or compositions with properties useful, for example, in dental applications. In one aspect, the present invention provides a compound of the formula (Formula I) wherein: each X independently represents an oxygen atom (O) or a nitrogen atom (N); Y and A each independently represent an organic group, with the proviso that Y does not represent —NHCH2CH2— if (i) p=O and R1 represents —C(O)C(CH3)═CH2, and/or (ii) q=0 and R2 represents —C(O)C(CH3)═CH2; m=1 to 5; n=0 to 5; p and q are independently 0 or 1; and R1 and R2 each independently represent H, —C(O)CH═CH2, or —C(O)C(CH3)═CH2.

    摘要: Resin-modified glass ionomer cements contain a polymer having a plurality of acidic repeating units but being substantially free of polymerizable vinyl groups, a polymer having a plurality of acidic repeating units and a plurality of polymerizable vinyl groups, a fluoroaluminosilicate glass, a redox cure system that can initiate dark cure of the vinyl groups, and water. The cements can be used without requiring a preliminary tooth priming or conditioning step and without requiring a curing lamp. The cements offer ease of mixing, convenient viscosity, convenient cure, good flexural strength, good adhesion to dentin and enamel, and high fluoride release, even when cured in thick sections and in the dark.

    摘要: A photosensitive composition is prepared containing a polymer of the formula B(X)(Y) wherein B represents an organic backbone, each X independently is an acidic group or salt thereof and each Y independently is a photocurable group and a photoinitiating compound or compounds. Preferably, free-radically polymerizable multi-functional monomer and/or oligomer is added to the photosensitive composition. The photosensitive composition can be coated on a suitable substrate for planographic printing plate applications. Imagewise irradiation causes the light struck regions to photocure, becoming insoluble in aqueous and organic mediums, while the non-light struck regions remain highly soluble/dispersable. Printing plates of this construction do not require processing prior to being run on a press.
