    Abstract: A redirection structure for electromagnetic waves includes a multilayer structure and at least one antenna element. The multilayer structure includes a first conductive element, a conductive substrate, and a dielectric substrate arranged between the first conductive element and the conductive substrate and forming a wave guide. The antenna element is arranged adjacent an edge of the multilayer structure at an interface, the electromagnetic waves at least partially propagating in the wave guide along a first direction. The redirection structure further includes at least one dielectric cavity arranged at a predefined distance from the interface along the first direction. The dielectric cavity extends in a second direction away from the dielectric substrate at least partially through the conductive substrate.

    Abstract: An antenna system for a mobile device includes a first electrically conductive member having a plurality of segments including at least a first corner segment and a central segment that is disposed adjacent to the first corner segment. A dielectric material is disposed in a gap between the first corner segment and the central segment. A second electrically conductive member is disposed within the mobile device. A first end of the second electrically conductive member is connected to the first corner segment. A portion of the second electrically conductive member away from the first end is electrically connected to a first feeding portion. The central segment is connected to a second feeding portion.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a dual-polarization antenna array that includes: a conductive structure having an aperture pattern including at least one first aperture and at least one second aperture, the first aperture(s) being directly interconnected with at least one second aperture. At least one first coupling element is connected to a first antenna feed line to excite a first electrical field having a first polarization. At least one second coupling element is connected to a second antenna feed line to excite a second electrical field having a second polarization. Each first coupling element is at least partially juxtaposed with one first aperture, allowing said first electrical field to be transmitted and/or received through said first aperture. Each second coupling element being at least partially juxtaposed with one second aperture, allowing said second electrical field to be transmitted and/or received through said second aperture.

    Abstract: A beam steering antenna structure comprising a printed circuit board and a conductive component, a first wall and a second wall of the printed circuit board being juxtaposed with a first surface of the conductive component, the second wall abutting and being galvanically connected to the first surface. A second surface of the conductive component extends at an angle from the first surface. A connecting surface extends between the first wall and the second wall such that a groove is formed, the groove being partially juxtaposed to the first surface. The groove comprises a first antenna array and a second antenna array transmitting or receiving, respectively, a first radiation beam and a second radiation beam having orthogonal polarizations. The second surface steers at least one of the first or second radiation beam in a direction away from or towards the connecting surface.
