Abstract: This application discloses a clock synchronization method and apparatus, and related storage medium, and pertains to the field of communications technologies. A network device receives an announce message from a first master clock node and an announce message from a second master clock node; and when an identifier of a first clock source node carried in the announce message of the first master clock node is the same as an identifier of a second clock source node carried in the announce message of the second master clock node, selects a master clock node with a smaller clock deviation from the first master clock node and the second master clock node, and then calibrates a clock of the network device based on time information of the master clock node. The precision of clock synchronization by the network device is improved.

Abstract: A method for synchronizing a network device includes: receiving, by the network device, a first SSM and a second SSM, where the first SSM carries a first SSM code for indicating a quality level of a first clock source and a first eSSM code for indicating the quality level of the first clock source, and the second SSM carries a second SSM code for indicating a quality level of a second clock source and a second eSSM code for indicating the quality level of the second clock source. When a value of the first SSM code is less than a value of the second SSM code, the network device calibrates a frequency of the network device based on a timing signal of the first clock source.

Abstract: A clock synchronization packet exchanging method includes sending, by a first device in a Flexible Ethernet (FlexE) group, a first FlexE instance at a first physical layer (PHY), where the first FlexE instance includes a clock synchronization packet, and a second FlexE instance sent by the first device in the FlexE group at a second PHY also includes a clock synchronization packet. The clock synchronization packets are carried in a plurality of FlexE instances transmitted between a transmit end and a receive end in the FlexE group.

Abstract: A network device synchronization method is provided. In various embodiments, a first SSM and a second SSM are received. The first SSM carries a first SSM code indicating a quality level of a first clock source and a first eSSM code indicating the quality level of the first clock source, the second SSM carries a second SSM code indicating a quality level of a second clock source. The second SSM lacks an eSSM code indicating the quality level of the second clock source, and a value of the first SSM code is equal to a value of the second SSM code. When a value of the first eSSM code is less than 0xFF, calibrating a frequency of the network device based on a timing signal of the first clock source.

Abstract: A frequency synchronization method includes: receiving, by a slave clock, a first pulse signal and a second pulse signal; determining, by the slave clock based on a first phase difference, a second phase difference, a first delay, and a second delay, that a frequency offset of the slave clock relative to the master clock is equal to a first frequency offset, where the first phase difference is a difference between a phase of a third pulse signal generated by the slave clock and a phase of the first pulse signal received by the slave clock, and the second phase difference is a difference between a phase of a fourth pulse signal generated by the slave clock and a phase of the second pulse signal received by the slave clock; and calibrating, by the slave clock, frequency of the slave clock based on the first frequency offset.

Abstract: A fiber link detection method is implemented by a first network device of an optical communications network. The fiber link detection method includes obtaining a forward delay value indicating a forward delay of transmitting a first Precision Time Protocol (PTP) packet by a second interface of a second network device to a first interface of the first network device over a fiber link. A reverse delay value indicating a reverse delay of transmitting a second PTP packet by the first interface to the second interface over the fiber link is obtained, and a determination is made, based on the forward delay value, the reverse delay value, and a first threshold, that the fiber link comprises a third network device, where the first network device and the second network device support a PTP, and where the third network device does not support the PTP.
