Abstract: A synchronization method and an apparatus are provided to meet a time precision requirement of an industrial factory in a scenario in which a mobile network is connected to an Ethernet network. In an embodiment, a first device determines seventh timestamp information by using timestamp information of receiving and sending packets in a mobile network, so that a second device calculates a time offset between the first device and the second device based on the seventh timestamp information and time points of receiving and sending packets in an Ethernet network, to perform time synchronization. In the method, impact of a transmission delay between the first device and the second device can be avoided, so that a time precision requirement of an industrial factory can be met in a scenario in which the mobile network is connected to the Ethernet network.

Abstract: The present application discloses a DCN processing method for a PLMN that is applied to a network sharing scenario. An access feedback message of a network side is received, and selection assistance information of a DCN and an identifier of a PLMN that serves UE are obtained from the access feedback message, so as to know a PLMN that is actually accessed by the UE. A correspondence between the selection assistance information of the DCN and the identifier of the PLMN that serves the UE is stored. When the UE moves to coverage of the PLMN, a requested DCN to be accessed can be directly determined according to the correspondence, and a RAN node is requested to access the determined DCN. Therefore, a redirection process is reduced, and resource overheads are reduced.

Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide a time synchronization method and a communication apparatus. The method includes: An access network device obtains first round-trip time information between the access network device and a terminal device, second round-trip time information between the access network device and a benchmark device, and third round-trip time information between the benchmark device and the terminal device; determines a delay from the access network device to the terminal device based on the obtained t round-trip time information; and sends the delay or an offset between the access network device and the terminal device to the terminal device, where the delay or the offset is used for time synchronization of the terminal device. In this solution, the access network device may accurately determine the offset or the delay, and the terminal device performs time synchronization based on the offset or the delay.

Abstract: System and method for determining distributed birefringence variations in a polarization-maintaining optical fiber (PM fiber). The method includes causing a pump signal to be sent into the PM fiber to generate a Brillouin dynamic grating (BDG) therein, causing a first chirped probe optical pulse to be sent into the PM fiber, receiving a first reflected signal, the first reflected signal being a first portion of the first chirped probe optical pulse reflected by the BDG, receiving a second reflected signal, the second reflected signal being a second portion of the first chirped probe optical pulse reflected by the BDG, and determining a variation of birefringence of the PM fiber indicative of a variation of physical disturbance of the PM fiber between times of reflections on the BDG of the first and second reflected signals.

Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide a timing method and a communication apparatus. The method includes: A clock management network element receives a clock request message from at least one terminal device. The clock request message includes an identifier of the terminal device and timing precision requested by the terminal device, and the at least one terminal device includes a second terminal device that requests first timing precision. The clock management network element determines that a first clock deployed on a first terminal device meets the first timing precision. The clock management network element sends first timing configuration information to the first terminal device. The first timing configuration information includes an identifier of the second terminal device. This application can optimize a manner in which the first terminal device performs timing for the second terminal device, to implement timing information isolation.

Abstract: A communication method and a communication apparatus. A first network element receives a first message and a second message. The first network element subscribes to the first data from a second network element based on the first message. The first network element determines whether the second data can be obtained from the first data. The first network element determines, based on a determining result, whether to subscribe to third data from the second network element. The first network element determines, based on the determining result, whether to subscribe to the second data from the second network element to avoid subscribing to repeated data from the second network element. The second network element is prevented from repeatedly collecting and reporting same data so that a load of the first network element and the second network element can be reduced.
