An apparatus of an access point (AP) or station (STA) comprising processing circuitry configured to decode or encode a physical layer (PHY) protocol data unit (PPDU) in accordance with an aggregated (A) resource unit (RU)(A-RU) where the A-RU includes RUs, the RUs including tones that are contiguous, and where at least two of the RUs are non-contiguous with one another.

Abstract: A method of processing wireless signals, including: receiving a wireless signal carrying a transmission frame having a physical layer header including a data rate index; decoding the physical layer header including the data rate index; filtering out the transmission frame for no further processing if a measured physical layer header energy is below an energy threshold corresponding to the decoded data rate index; decode a sample portion of data codewords of the transmission frame if the transmission frame is not filtered out, wherein the sample portion of data codewords is less than all of the data codewords of the transmission frame; and filtering out the transmission frame for no further processing if the decoding of the sample portion of data codewords fails, and otherwise decode a remainder of the transmission frame.

Abstract: Embodiments of an access point (AP), station (STA) and method of communication are generally described herein. The STA may determine a portion of a channel occupied by an incumbent device. The STA may refrain from communication in a first subset of resource units (RUs) that overlap the portion of the channel occupied by the incumbent device. The STA may determine a combined RU that comprises two or more RUs of a second subset of RUs that do not overlap the portion of the channel occupied by the incumbent device. The STA may encode a physical layer convergence procedure protocol data unit (PPDU) for transmission in the combined RU. The PPDU may be encoded in accordance with joint coding across the RUs of the combined RU.

Abstract: An access point (AP) configured for multi-AP coordinated beamforming (CBF) and multi-AP joint transmission (JT) in an Extremely High Throughput (EHT) wireless local area network (WLAN), when operating as a master AP (AP1) in a multi-AP network, is configured to encode a null data packet announcement (NDPA) frame for multi-AP channel sounding. The NDPA is configured for transmission to a second AP (AP2) and a plurality of stations (STAs) of an EHT group. The NDPA may be encoded to have an information field indicating whether a sounding sequence type is for JT channel sounding or CBF channel sounding. The NDPA may further be encoded to include fields identifying the APs participating in the channel sounding. In these embodiments, the channel sounding sequence for JT can be reused for the channel sounding on CBF.

The device may apply a modifier to the sequence of pseudo-random symbols. The device may generate a secure sounding signal from the modified sequence of pseudo-random symbols. The device may send the secure sounding signal to a first station device.
