Abstract: The Internet can be configured to provide communications to a large number of Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices. Devices can be designed to address the need for network layers, from central servers, through gateways, down to edge devices, to grow unhindered, to discover and make accessible connected resources, and to support the ability to hide and compartmentalize connected resources. Network protocols can be part of the fabric supporting human accessible services that operate regardless of location, time, or space. Innovations can include service delivery and associated infrastructure, such as hardware and software. Services may be provided in accordance with specified Quality of Service (QoS) terms. The use of IoT devices and networks can be included in a heterogeneous network of connectivity including wired and wireless technologies.

Abstract: Technologies for monitoring a characteristic of a monitored system include determining a measured value of the primary characteristic of the monitored system sensed by a primary sensor and a measured value of the secondary characteristic of the monitored system sensed by a secondary sensor, and predicating a predicted value of the primary characteristic based on the measured value of the secondary characteristic. The measured and predicted values of the primary characteristic are used to determine whether the primary sensor is properly functioning.

Abstract: Ultrasonic location systems are provided. These ultrasonic location systems include two or more wave transmitters, two or more wave receivers, and a mapping component that controls the operation of the transmitters and the receivers. The mapping component relies on collaborative operation of multiple transmitters and multiple phased-array receivers where each of the transmitters emits a short burst of sound wave in a pre-defined sequence and after every burst all phased-array receivers detect the wave reflected from surrounding objects. The mapping component uses the position of the transmitters, the position of the receivers, the time of transmission, the time of reception, and the phase shift of the waves to calculate a time of flight and a direction of arrival for the reflections. The mapping component uses triangulation to determine a distance between any physical objects acting as sources of reflection and one or more physical objects having a recorded position relative to the receivers.

Abstract: Embodiments of a system and method for removing speech by a user from audio frames are generally described herein. A method may include receiving a plurality of frames of audio data, extracting a set of frames of the plurality of frames, the set of frames including speech by a user with a set of remaining frames in the plurality of frames not in the set of frames, suppressing the speech by the user from the set of frames using a trained model to create a speech-suppressed set of frames, and recompiling the plurality of frames using the speech-suppressed set of frames and the set of remaining frames.
