    Abstract: Anatomic simulators, assemblies, and related methods are disclosed. In some embodiments, an anatomic simulator may include constraint panels that define a variably sized volume configured to receive an organ model. An elastic member may be configured to provide a restorative force when the constraint panels are moved to an expanded configuration. Alignment apertures in the constraint panels may be configured to permit marking of an organ model and/or visibility of a mark disposed on the organ model to position and orient the organ model in the anatomic simulator. In some embodiments, an anatomic simulation assembly may include an anatomic simulator, a pressure source, pneumatic controls, a pressure sensor, and a processor. In some embodiments, a method of simulating anatomic motion may include flowing a fluid to an organ model, sensing a pressure, and controlling the flow of fluid based on the sensed pressure to maintain a target pressure.

    Abstract: A medical instrument system comprises an instrument manipulator configured to control a position of a medical instrument with respect to a base. The instrument manipulator comprises an instrument carriage comprising a medical instrument connector configured to engage the medical instrument. The instrument carriage is configured to translate along a linear axis to advance or retract the medical instrument with respect to the base. The medical instrument system also comprises an insertion stage slideably engaged with the instrument carriage along the linear axis. The insertion stage has a drive assembly comprising a drive belt and a drive motor configured to drive the drive belt. The base is fixedly coupled to the drive belt. The medical instrument system also comprises a connecting element having a distal end fixedly coupled to the drive belt and a proximal end fixed to the instrument carriage.

    Abstract: A machine is configured to access force data generated by a force sensor, where the force data quantifies variation in magnitude of a force encountered by a distal portion of an elongate device during a time period in which the distal portion traveled a distance within an environment during a procedure, and where the force data includes a current value of the magnitude of the force. Based on the force data, the machine generates a graphical representation that indicates the force encountered by the distal portion at a point in the procedure relative to an entirety of the procedure, and then causes a display screen to present the graphical representation. Other apparatus and methods are also described.
