History-aware selective pixel shifting

    Abstract: Techniques for generating pixel shifting patterns for organic light emitting diode (OLED) displays are provided. Pixel usage data for the OLED display can be accumulated. Areas of the OLED display susceptible to burn-in damage can be identified based on the accumulated pixel usage data. A pixel shifting pattern can be generated based on the accumulated pixel image data and data relating to an image to be displayed. The pixel shifting pattern can be generated to avoid the areas identified as susceptible to burn-in damage. The pixel shifting pattern can be applied to the image to be displayed to generate modified image data. The modified image data can limit further damage to the OLED display and thereby delay the onset of undesirable burn-in effects.

    Abstract: Function extender devices for enhancing feature sets for display arrangements having source devices and sink devices are disclosed. In one embodiment, a non-addressable device is disclosed for use in a system having a source and a sink to communicate with each other via a bus, where the non-addressable device comprises a functional logic block for coupling between the source and the sink and operable to perform at least one function on data of one or both of the first channel for video and audio data or data of a sideband channel received from the source, where the data of the first channel for video and audio data and data of a sideband channel are received from the source being addressed to the sink. The device also comprises a Physical (PHY) repeater operable to transmit data of both the first channel and the sideband channel after performance of the at least one function by the functional logic block on the data of one or both of the first channel or the sideband channel received from the source.

    Abstract: In general, in one aspect, the disclosure describes a method to assign unique addresses to each sink device in a content network based on port numbers of a source and branch devices in the network. Sink devices connected to a port on the source or the branch devices are assigned a corresponding port number as a sink address. Branch devices connected to a port on the source or higher level branch devices have a corresponding port number prepended to the previously assigned sink addresses.
