Abstract:
An image forming apparatus which is capable of detecting the direction and amount of an image shift in the main scanning direction without wasting toner, to thereby provide a higher-quality image with reduced running costs. A conductor is disposed such that the conductor partially overlaps an electrostatic latent image line formed on a photosensitive drum in a manner extending in a main scanning direction of the photosensitive drum, while moving relative to the electrostatic latent image line. The conductor generates induced current by the relative motion. An image shift in the main scanning direction is detected based on a result of measurement of the induced current generated by the conductor.

Abstract:
A charging device capable of appropriately grasping the charged state of a battery pack using data stored in a memory of the battery pack even when the battery pack becomes commercial as a new product. A charging device determines charged state data indicative of a charged state of a battery pack mounted thereon based on a charging current supplied and/or a charging voltage applied to the battery pack. A charge control microcomputer reads charging characteristics data from a memory of the battery pack, and generates a data table associating at least one of the charging current supplied and the charging voltage applied to the battery pack and the charged state data with each other, based on the charging characteristics data read out. The microcomputer determines charged state data indicative of a charged state of the battery pack, based on the generated data table.

The present invention provides a recording head that has a driving circuit performing driving by dividing a plurality of heaters into a plurality of blocks and supplying electric current on a block-by-block basis based on recording data; a constant current source applying a common bias current to each temperature sensor group obtained by dividing temperature sensors disposed in correspondence to each heater of a plurality of heaters into blocks; a voltage output circuit having a switching element that turns electric current supply to the temperature sensors of the selected temperature sensor group ON and OFF, and obtaining a voltage generated at both terminals of the selected temperature sensor by supplying an electric current to the temperature sensor; and an amplifier circuit amplifying the detection voltages.
Abstract:
A printing apparatus and ink discharge failure detection method capable of precisely detecting temperature information corresponding to each nozzle are provided. Temperatures of respective electrothermal transducers (heaters) are measured on the basis of outputs from a plurality of sensors corresponding to the respective heaters. The temperatures of the heaters at a predetermined timing during a printing operation are predicted on the basis of the temperature change profiles of the respective heaters that are generated by energizing the heaters. A plurality of thresholds corresponding to nozzle states are generated on the basis of the predicted temperatures and the driving conditions of an inkjet printhead, and it is controlled to execute temperature measurement at the predetermined timing. A temperature measured under the control is compared with the respective generated thresholds, and the nozzle state is identified on the basis of the comparison results.
Abstract:
An ottoman is incorporated with a frame of a seat. The ottoman comprises a pivotal base structure pivotally connected to the seat cushion frame. The pivotal base structure is movable between retracted and projected positions with respect to the seat cushion frame. A sliding board structure is slidably supported by the pivotal base structure. The sliding board structure is movable between retracted and projected positions with respect to the pivotal base structure. An electric drive mechanism is employed for synchronously moving both of the pivotal base structure and the sliding board structure between the retracted and projected positions with the aid of electric power.
Abstract:
An inference conducted by use of fuzzy knowledge can be directly written in inference rules. It is possible to use ambiguous language expressions and freely describe flexible knowledge, although ambiguous, in a knowledge base. The user specifies execution priority orders or conviction degrees of inference rules such that even when an antecedent contains a confirmative or determinant action, a contention between rules is prevented. An intermediate results of a fuzzy inference is passed in a form of a real number or a fuzzy label to the next inference to achieve a fuzzy multi-stage inference. A multi-stage inference conducting a backtrack operation based on fuzzy knowledge is implemented to reflect a user's ambiguous knowledge. An inference method associated with a best value retrieval function is provided, in contrast to the conventional method in which a fuzzy inference and a binary logic inference are continuously achieved from an upper-level retrieval or search point to a lower-level retrieval point in a one-directional manner.
Abstract:
The present invention is a frame for constructing pavement boards in which plural sections having the bottom are divided, plural holes for draining water are made in the bottom, plural through holes in the directions of top and bottom are formed at the section walls of the above sections, respectively, the lower sides of the holes are opened and the upper sides of the holes are closed so as to be openable. The upper sides of the above through holes are closed so as to be openable by a thin film which is unitedly formed with the frame or an adhesion tape which is applied to the upper sides of the section walls. Thus, the above frame can be obtained by the process in which concrete or mortar are poured into the sections, after hardening the concrete or the mortar, the upper sides of the through holes are opened by removing a little the upper sides of the section walls, or by stripping off the adhesion tape which is applied to the upper sides of the section walls, so that the frame can be used for producing the permeable pavement boards which are mainly made of concrete or mortar. The water permeability is secured by the above through holes.
Abstract:
An in-tank fuel feed pump supporting device comprises a plurality of stays and a single pump vibration damping elastic member. Each stay is formed with an oblong elastic member holding recess and the damping elastic member is formed with a plurality of tabs or a flange so as to be fitted to the oblong holding recesses of the stay. The elastic member is so disposed between a fuel feed pump and the stays as to cover the fuel feed pump and be deformed substantially in only shear mode when the fuel pump vibrates in the axial direction thereof. Therefore, it is possible to effectively damp the fuel pump vibration energy, prevent fuel pump noise from being transmitted to the outside of the fuel tank and reduce the manufacturing cost, simultaneously.
