Abstract:
One or more embodiments of the invention provide a method, apparatus, system, and article of manufacture for monitoring components of a digital cinema system. A configuration of an exhibitor system (that has one or more components) of a digital cinema system is stored. Each of the one or more components is then polled (e.g., using radio frequency) based on the configuration. A determination is then made regarding the integrity of the exhibitor system based on the configuration and results of the polling. Further, a global positioning system (GPS) location and an identification (of a component) is received from an exhibitor system component. Based on the identification and the polling, a determination may be made regarding whether the identification is for an unauthorized component and consequently the location of the component for initiating enforcement action.
Abstract:
A process for manufacturing a door trim panel with an integral soft armrest pad is provided which includes providing male and female steam chest mold halves, loading and restraining a cover material onto the female mold half, closing the male mold half to a fill position to form a cavity, inserting a divider into the cavity to separate the cavity into a low density volume and a high density volume, filling the high density volume with first polymeric material, filling the low density volume of the mold cavity with second polymeric material, withdrawing the divider from the mold cavity, and heating the first and second polymeric materials such that the first and second polymeric materials are melt bonded together, including at positions where particles from the first polymeric material contact particles from the second polymeric material. The low density volume creates the soft armrest pad.
Abstract:
A captive screw for use in electronic assemblies includes a screw with a shaft having a pair of spaced grooves and a cover captivating the screw and for attaching the captive screw. A knob for rotating the screw can be moved along the shaft between an extended position and a lowered position corresponding to the grooves on the shaft, and releasably locked to the shaft in either position. A lock wafer is used to secure the knob to the shaft. A release button with a large head actuates the lock wafer.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a lockable latch for securing together a first panel to a second panel or keeper on a second panel or frame. The latch has a housing, a lockplug configured for a key, a lock collar and a return spring. When a user turns a key to rotate the lockplug and thereby lock the lockplug, the lock collar rotates through 90 degrees and a portion thereof occupies the space or gap between an edge of the first panel and a portion of the latch housing configured and dimensioned to receive the edge of the first panel or frame. As a result, space between an edge of the housing and the first panel is taken up by a portion of the locking collar due to rotation of the locking collar in the housing.

Abstract:
A method of making an interior trim panel for attachment to structure of a vehicle includes the steps of placing a trim insert into a cavity of an apparatus and over a first seal thereof. The method also includes the steps of loading a retainer over the trim insert to sandwich the trim insert between the retainer and the first seal and closing the apparatus. The method further includes the steps of filling the cavity with a plastic material and introducing steam into the apparatus to expand the plastic material to form a substrate and bonding the substrate against the trim insert to form an interior trim panel.
Abstract:
A system and method are shown for performing cool, on-column sample injection into a chromatographic device having a capillary column which injection is achieved through the use of a syringe having a needle. The column diameter is minimized by the provision of an inlet assembly connected to the inlet end of the column, a sealing member disposed in the inlet assembly, for forming a fluid tight seal in the inlet end when the sample is injected onto the column to prevent the sample from escaping and for reducing the effective length of the needle at the point of insertion of the needle into the column and a guide member for reducing the effective length and for supporting the needle during insertion into the column. A temperature controller for controlling the temperature of the column in the region where the sample is injected is also disclosed. The sealing member is shown to include an elastomeric member and further the system includes a mechanism for continuously cooling the elastomeric member. The elastomeric member is shown to include a septum having a bore formed therein for passage of the needle therethrough. A new sample vial closure is also shown for use in the system, which closure applies only a minimal axial force on the needle. In such a system and method the need for a long syringe is obviated. The column inner diameter can be minimized by the system and method which permits the needle of the syringe to having a minimum outer circumference.
