Abstract:
A support structure comprises a first portion for sliding attachment to a seat having a front, a back, and two sides, and a second portion connected to the first portion at a substantially right angle. The first portion has a hollow cross-sectional shape with an asymmetrical material distribution through the plane of the cross section, the material distribution placing more of the material comprising the first portion toward the sides of the vehicle seat. The support structure is adapted for attachment to the seat and is adapted to be activated to extend in a substantially vertical direction upwardly from the seat. The first portion has an arc shape along its length so that when the support structure is activated the second portion is supported by the first portion at a desirable angle for bracing against an impact force direction that is typical of vehicle rollover.
Abstract:
A press unit (20) for a manufactured wood press (60) is provided. The press unit includes a housing (80), a platen (90), and a drive assembly (76) disposed within the housing. The drive assembly is coupled to the platen to drive the platen in a non-linear motion.
Abstract:
A very accurate rotational phase detection system is disclosed having first and second disks that are encoded with a 31-digit pseudo-random M-sequence, the first and second disks being attached to rotationally-coupled members. In the disclosed embodiment, the encoding is accomplished by dividing the disks into 31 sections and contouring the periphery of the disks such that sections corresponding to “1” have a larger radius and sections corresponding to “0” have a smaller radius. Sensors—for example, inductive proximity sensors—are positioned near the periphery of the first and second disks that detect the encoded pseudo-random sequences and are periodically sampled (for example, at 50 kHz) to generate first and second detected sequences. The first and second detected sequences are processed to remove noise and to range between +1 and −1, and are then cross-correlated to determine the rotational phase relationship between the attached rotating members.
Abstract:
A technique for dispatching semiconductor components for processing is disclosed. The technique includes providing a plurality of lots of semiconductor components. The technique also includes providing a plurality of rules, each including one or more conditions. The technique further includes determining which of the plurality of rules is applicable to a particular lot, and eliminating rules that are not applicable to a particular lot, thus forming a plurality of remaining rules for each particular lot. The technique still further includes applying the plurality of remaining rules to the lots of semiconductor components. If a rule applied to a particular lot activates, processing of the particular lot is inhibited.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for an adaptive search user interface is provided. An interface is provided that returns search results upon receiving each alphanumeric character of a search query term. Correlations of prefixes of alphanumeric characters and search results selected from previous searches are stored in a correlation matrix. Based upon the correlations in the correlation matrix, relevance rankings for search results with respect to the prefixes of alphanumeric characters are updated. Search results may be grouped based upon one or more common traits. Relevance rankings are also updated based upon the rate of change of selections recorded for a search result.
Abstract:
The invention presented is a pad printing blanket that reduces damage to pad printing heads. The industry-standard pad printing head is soft plastic, silicone or urethane. The pad is used to print designs on three-dimensional surfaces and the pad must be pressed firmly onto said surfaces. This pressure leaves permanent indentations on the print pad surface, eventually rendering the print pad useless for printing. The invention covers said print pad with a blanket of soft plastic which carries the ink for the image. Only the pad blanket contacts the printable surface, protecting the print pad and reducing the need for expensive print pad replacement.
Abstract:
A sled carriage is configured to move in a direction of an axis. A platform is attached with the sled carriage and a sled buck is attached with the platform. Upon acceleration of the sled carriage, the sled buck and platform move relative to the sled carriage.
