摘要: A collapsible foldable dispensing carton is provided which includes pairs of first and second top closure flaps foldably connected to upright wall panels, the latter being foldably interconnected. When the carton is in a set up mode, pairs of wall panels are in spaced, opposed relation. When the closure flaps are in an overlapping close relation, one of the first flaps is the outermost flap and is provided with a dispensing opening. A fitment of thin material is mounted on an exposed surface of the outermost flap and in registry with the dispensing opening. The fitment includes a base section which is affixed to the exposed surface portion of the outermost first flap circumjacent the dispensing opening. The base section is provided with an aperture in registry with the dispensing opening. The fitment also includes a hingedly mounted cover section movable relative to the base section between fully open and close modes. The hinge axis of the cover section is in alignment with a peripheral segment of the outermost flap and in spaced, parallel relation with a foldline connecting the outermost flap to one upright wall panel.

摘要: A food package is provided wherein the accommodated food product, while remaining in the package, may be heated or cooked in a microwave oven. The food product has at least one predetermined portion thereof which requires enhanced heat while the product is being heated or cooked in the oven. The food package includes a container formed of heat resistant material which is pervious to the microwaves. A surface of the container is provided with an area which is in proximity to the predetermined portion of the food product requiring the enhanced heat. A metallized ink, consisting of metal particles suspended in an ink-like substance, is deposited on the surface area of the container. Thus, when the metallized ink is exposed to the generated microwaves, the required enhanced heat is produced in the vicinity of the surface area.

摘要: A carrier is provided for accommodating a plurality of articles. The carrier includes a base panel, wall panels extending upwardly from opposite peripheral portions thereof, and a handle foldably connected to upper portions of the wall panels and spanning the distance therebetween. The handle is provided with a center section having a pair of longitudinally spaced fingerholes formed therein. Each hole has a foldable tab which is substantially defined by a curved cut, the end portions of which are curved opposite from one another. The portion of the center section disposed intermediate the curved end portions of each cut provides the folding connection between the tab and the center section.

摘要: An intracranial pressure monitoring system and method. The system includes an auditory stimulation and recording unit, which includes a stimulation controller, a memory for storing waveforms, a device for comparing received waveforms with stored waveforms, and an alarm operable based upon that comparison. The system includes at least one cranial electrode attachable to a patient, and an auditory stimulation device, operable by the stimulation controller. The stimulation device is a pair of acoustic ear inserts, each of which is connected to and operated by an auditory stimulator activated by the stimulation controller. In the method, a patient is auditorially stimulated to evoke a received waveform indicative of intracranial pressure, a comparison is generated by comparing the received waveform with one of an established patient baseline waveform and an established normal waveform, and an alarm is generated responsive to that comparison.

摘要: A tray composed of a unitary, continuous blank has an inner surface and an outer surface. The tray comprises a bottom wall, a plurality of sidewalls extending upwardly from the bottom wall and a plurality of minor flaps. Each of the plurality of minor flaps is connected to one of the sidewalls via a fold line and has a respective outer edge. At least one of the minor flaps is connected to a sidewall via a first cut score. The first cut score extends upwardly from the bottom wall without extending to an outer edge of the minor flap. The at least one minor flap is separated from the sidewall via a knife cut. The knife cut extends from near the outer edge of the minor flap downward toward and near the first cut score. The at least one minor flap has a second cut score formed therein. The second cut score extends from near the separation means. The first and second cut scores are formed from opposing surfaces of the blank so as to form a partial web.

摘要: A paperboard container having a reclosable shaker pour spout for dispensing granular products. The reclosable shaker pour spout is formed on a wall of the container from first and second minor flaps which are folded inwardly within the container, a first-down major flap which is folded inwardly and overlies the the first and second minor flaps, and a second-down major flap which is folded inwardly and overlies the first-down major flap. Both of the first and second minor flaps have at least one semi-aperture formed on their outer edges which are aligned with corresponding semi-apertures on the other minor flap. The semi-apertures on each of the flaps cooperate to form full apertures in response to the first and second minor flaps being folded inwardly within the container. A detachable plug formed on the first-down major flap overlies the apertures in response to the first-down major flap being folded inwardly on top of the first and second minor flaps. A tear-away pour spout opening tab formed on the second-down major flap overlies and becomes adhered to the detachable plug in response to the second-down major flap being folded inwardly on top of the first-down major flap. Initial opening of the container is accomplished by tearing away the opening tab from the second-down major flap, which causes the detachable plug to become detached from the first-down major flap and create an opening in its former position, thus providing access to the apertures formed from the first and second minor flaps. The container may thereafter be closed by frictionally engaging the plug into the opening on the first-down major flap.

摘要: A recloseable container comprises an outer carton and a liner constructed and arranged for placement within the carton. The carton includes opposing top and bottom walls, opposing front and back walls, and opposing first and second side walls. The first and second side walls and the front wall include a continuous horizontal tear strip for opening up the carton from a sealed form to form a lid hingedly attached to a base section. The liner includes a front panel and opposing first and second side sections for fitting the liner within the carton. The first and second side sections include respective first and second side panels having outer surfaces adjacent inner surfaces of the respective first and second carton side walls. Each of the first and second liner side sections includes a hinged portion and an island portion disposed in forcibly displaceable mutual engagement such that opening the container lid exerts a force which disengages the mutual engagement between the hinged portion and the island portion, and reclosing the lid leads to snap re-engagement of the hinged portion and the island portion.

摘要: A side-filled, flip-top reclosable carton comprises opposing top and bottom walls and opposing front and back walls where the front wall includes inner and outer panels. First and second top minor flaps extend from opposing ends of the top wall. First and second bottom minor flaps extend from opposing ends of the bottom wall. First and second back major flaps extend from opposing ends of the back wall. First and second wing flaps extend from opposing ends of the front inner panel. First and second front major flaps extend from opposing ends of the front outer panel. The first and second front major flaps and the front outer panel including a continuous horizontal tear strip for opening up the carton from a sealed form to form a lid hingedly attached to a base section. The first top and bottom minor flaps, the first front and back major flaps, and the first wing flap are uniquely designed to permit sealing of the first side wall using a conventional flap folding sequence so that the carton is entirely compatible with conventional form-fill-seal equipment. The various second flaps are similarly folded and glued using the conventional folding sequence to form a second side wall opposing the first side wall.

摘要: A flip-top recloseable carton and liner assembly includes a carton in the form of a six-sided parallelopiped enclosure having opposing top and bottom walls, front and back walls, and side walls formed from corresponding panels and flaps defined on a unitary, continuous paperboard blank. The assembly further includes a liner constructed and arranged to fit within the carton, the liner having opposing front and back panels and opposing side panels. The outer layers of the side walls and the front wall of the carton are provided with horizontal tear-strip sections which define an integral and continuous tear strip that functions as convenient means for opening the carton from its sealed form. Repeated closing and positive locking of the carton is realized using a die-cut portion on the liner front panel which includes a proximal flap and an island portion dispersed in forcibly displaceable mutual engagement. Once the engaging flap and island portion are disengaged forcibly by opening the carton top, reclosing thereof leads to snap re-engagement of the flap and island elements accompanied by positive tactile and audible feedback indicative of effective carton closure.
