    摘要: A method of operating a spectrometer to determine property and/or composition data of a sample comprises an on-line spectral measurement of the sample using a computer controlled spectrometer, statistical analysis of the sample data based upon a statistical model using sample calibration data, and automatically identifying a sample if necessary based upon statistical and expert system (rule-based) criteria. Sample collection based upon statistical criteria consists of performing a statistical or rule-based check against the model to identify measurement data which are indicative of chemical species not in the samples already stored in the model. Samples identified either by a statistical criteria or using an expert system (rule-based decisions) are used preferably to isolate the liquid sample using a computer controlled automatic sampling system. The samples can be saved for subsequent laboratory analysis in removable sample containers. The results of the laboratory analysis together with the on-line spectroscopic measurements are preferably used to update the model being used for the analysis.

    摘要: A pipe supporting device is used to support an exposed pipe of a roof. The device includes a base having a flat bottom for resting on the roof, an upright member of a length which is connectable to the base and a receiving portion which is connectable to the upright member for receiving and supporting the exposed pipe. The length of the upright member can be altered by a user at a job site to thereby provide a device having a desired overall height. A upright steel reinforcing component is first installed on the roof and the pipe supporting device is then placed over the reinforcing component so that the component is received within a bottom opening provided on the base of the device. The reinforcing component provides additional structural support for the pipe supporting device in extreme environments, such as hurricane zones.

    摘要: A fiber redirect system for use with a multi-axis robotic wrist and fiber placement system and methods of using the same are provided. The fiber redirect system may include one or more redirect mechanisms configured to alter the path of one or more fiber tows fed from a creel assembly to a fiber placement head. The redirect mechanism may be located and configured so as to be centered about either the intersection of the pitch and yaw axes of the robotic wrist or the intersection of the yaw and roll axes of the robotic wrist. In one exemplary embodiment, a first redirect mechanism is centered about the intersection of the pitch and yaw axes, a second redirect mechanism is centered about the intersection of the yaw and roll axes and a third redirect mechanism may be centered about the roll axis.

    摘要: Multiple sheets spiral bound together as a unit by a continuous filament. The sheets have a plurality of closely spaced perforations aligned along an edge thereof. The filament is an elongated rod-like member having an outer surface and a centrally-located longitudinal axis. The filament is flexible and is disposed in spiral configuration through the perforations. The filament additionally comprises an inner surface defined by an internal elongate passage extending therethrough. The internal opening facilitates crimping of the inventive filament after it has been spiraled into a plurality of closely spaced perforations aligned along an edge of a stack of sheets. The internal opening in the filament also provides improved control over the outer dimension of the filament during manufacture.
