The receiver or mobile communication device can monitor only those carriers that are listed in the active set of carriers.

In a particular form, the underlying asset is a signed National Letter of Intent, a contract that obligates a prospect attending a particular institution to participate in that institution's non-rival athletic program. Revenues generated by options and futures contracts traded according to the device and method of the present invention can be used to further the institution's educational and athletic missions.

A repeater (14) receives the first signal and transmits a second signal (16) comprising the information in the first signal, and a plurality of digital coded squelch words synchronized with the holes to indicate the location of at least one of the holes in the first signal (i.e., the time at which at least one of the holes will occur). In one embodiment, each hole occurs after each pair of coded squelch words, and accordingly the pairs of coded squelch words are marked to indicate the times of occurrence of holes in the first signal.

The portable unit (10) can be either a cordless microphone or a transceiver. The portable unit (10) allows a remotely positioned operator to transmit messages to a base station (13). To ensure security and reliable operation, the portable and vehicle mounted units use digitized codes for ID and instruction purposes. These codes are newly generated from time to time by the vehicle mounted unit and are imparted to the portable unit via a battery charging interface by modulating the battery charging signal with the reset and digital data signals. An improved remote squelch detect is also provided.

摘要： The PDCAB packet (300) and the RRA packet (308) are transmitted together on the F-SCCH. For example, 9 RRA bits (305) are appended to the PDCAB field (303), in place of the pad bits (205), thereby allowing both the PDCAB (303) and RRA (311) messages to be protected against errors by a 16-bit CRC (307). In accordance with the embodiments, a receiver is able to distinguish between the varying PDCAB (303) and RRA (305) message formats and transmitting the packets (300) and (308) together is a normal mode of operation in the embodiments. Therefore, in accordance with the embodiments, when the PDCAB packet (300) and RRA packet (308) are transmitted together, the network replaces the N PDCAB pad bits, such as pad bits (205), with the first N bits from the RRA bitmap (311), in order to use the nominal CRC length for both packets (300) and (308).

The fantasy football game can be played by participants who select coaching staffs from actual football teams such that statistical results or related performance indicia achieved during on-field play by one or more respective actual football teams are used to represent each participant in a virtual football game against at least one other participant. Wins and losses for the fantasy football games occur by calculating a total of each individual fantasy player's points and comparing them either in head-to-head or total point total formats. Metrics of the actual weekly on-field performance by a corresponding team can be used to gauge participant success, where such metric is based generally on a quantified value of coaching contributions to that team's on-field success. A more particular form of the metric involves using an adjustment to yards per pass attempt to take into consideration coaching play designs.

A next step 510 includes reassigning a portion of said traffic resources for which a positive acknowledgement has been determined to uninitiated packets or to assist with one or more ongoing transmissions.
