摘要: Information presentation system comprises a computer device having a display terminal for providing a graphical user interface (GUI), capable of generating a cluster of items comprising graphical or textual elements for display thereof according to a fractal appearance. Each item in a cluster represents information having a degree of relatedness with information represented by other items in a cluster. A control mechanism is provided for controlling the spatial extent, nesting and arrangement of items within a cluster according to a specified criteria, which spatial extent and arrangement is controlled to provide optimal display and conserve screen display space on the display terminal. Users may manually enter a criteria for organizing and adjusting the spatial extent of a cluster in order to provide continuous display space on the computer display terminal. The invention may be implemented in text editors to provide a multiresolution annotation feature for portable and lap/palm-top computer devices having pen-based or keyboard based inputs.

摘要: A system and method for encoding sound information in image sub-feature sets comprising pixels in a picture or video image. Small differences in intensity of pixels in this image set are not detectable by eyes, but are detectable by scanning devices that measure these intensity differences between closely situated pixels in the sub-feature sets. These encoded numbers are mapped into sound representations allowing for the reproduction of sound.

摘要: The dynamically sized window automatically adjusts its right border if the text on the line exceeds beyond the window size, thereby eliminating a need for a manual adjustment of the window size and/or scrolling through the window. Moreover, the present invention enables a capability to increase only the selective parts of the window that displays a longer line. Similarly, adjustments to the window are enabled for those windows having graphical pictures whose size exceeds the window size. Windows overlapping other windows may be made transparent so that the underlying window is visible.

摘要: Contextual data center management utilizing a virtual environment is described. In one embodiment, there is a data center management tool for managing a physical data center from a representation of the physical data center operating in a virtual universe. The data center management tool includes a data center contextual object component configured to obtain a data center contextual object that describes operational information of the physical data center in the virtual universe. An operational change component is configured to implement at least one operational change to the representation of the physical data center in the virtual universe. The at least one operational change is implemented as a function of the data center contextual object. A management component is configured to manage the physical data center pursuant to a result obtained from implementing the at least one operational change.

摘要: A method and system for re-formatting computer files. The method comprises the steps of inputting a data file into a computer, and determining if the data file is compatible with the computer. If the data file is not compatible with the computer, the data file is transmitted over the Internet to a universal server; and the universal server transforms the data file into a format compatible with the computer, and sends the transformed data file back to the computer. Preferably, the universal server identifies the type of file, and transforms the file into a different format of the same type. Also, in a preferred embodiment, a user of the computer identifies user requirements, these requirements are transmitted to the universal server, and the file is reformatted in accordance with the user requirements.
