Users can be informed of overflow of the waste ink and thereby prompted to exchange the tank; space required for the tank can thus be reduced.

A recording apparatus which can be loaded with the ink ribbon cassette comprises a base member for carrying a stack of the ink ribbon cassettes having the described construction, a pair of locating members projected from the base member and adapted to be received in the pair of through holes, and engaging members projected from the base member and provided at their ends with claws for engagement with the engaging portion of the casing, whereby the ink ribbon cassettes of the stack are located and held by common locating members.
