    摘要: An apparatus for determining a location of a downhole component includes at least one transmitter device and a receiver device. One of the at least one transmitter device and the receiver device is disposed at a first component of a borehole string configured to be deployed in a borehole and retained at a stationary position, and another of the at least one transmitter device and the receiver device is disposed at a moveable component configured to be moved while the first component is at the stationary position, the at least one transmitter device configured to emit a wireless signal and the receiver device configured to detect the wireless signal when the first component is at the stationary position. The apparatus also includes a processing device configured to receive signal data and estimate a location of the moveable component relative to the first component based on the signal data.

    摘要: A propulsion engine for an aircraft comprises an enclosure having a longitudinal axis oriented in a direction of travel of an aircraft, the enclosure including a series of walls and a plurality of ducts arranged along the longitudinal axis. Each of the ducts including a number of walls that are either dynamic or static in movement. Each of the ducts includes a central axis that is angled at, or can be adjusted to, an angle toward the front wall of the enclosure such that a top end of each duct is toward the front wall of the enclosure. A fan is disposed in each of the ducts configured to generate airflow along the respective central axes from the top end to the bottom end to provide lift and thrust to the aircraft.

    摘要: A method of making a composite downhole article is disclosed. The method include forming at least one removable core member comprising a first metallic material that is removable in a wellbore fluid at a first removal rate; and disposing at least one outer member on the core member, the outer member comprising a second material that is removable in the wellbore fluid at a second removal rate, wherein the removable core member has a composition gradient or a density gradient, or a combination thereof, and wherein the first removal rate is substantially greater than the second removal rate. A method of using a composite downhole article is also disclosed. The method includes forming a composite downhole article as described above; using the article to perform a first wellbore operation; exposing the article to the wellbore fluid; and selectively removing the second removable member.
