摘要： A package for dispensing a carbonated beverage pre-mix at a controlled flow rate in the micro-gravity conditions of outer space comprising a rigid outer container, a collapsible bag in the container, and an adjustable flow rate control valve. Positive pressure is applied to the collapsible container by CO.sub.2 gas in the container surrounding the bag to assist the dispensing of the pre-mix therefrom. The pre-mix is dispensed from a spout, directly into an astronaut's mouth upon actuation of a lever disposed on the top of the package.

摘要： The present invention describes a vented check valve for use with post-mix carbonators. The vented check valve is a fail safe device which will vent carbon dioxide or carbonated water to the atmosphere when a back flow condition occurs. The vented check valve of the present invention includes a flexible valve diaphragm having a first valve seat portion around the annular portion of the diaphragm and a second valve seat portion in the center thereof. The first valve seat portion is utilized to open and close the main water inlet by permitting the edges of the diaphragm to flex in response to the pressure of water flowing in a first direction. The second valve seat portion is disposed in cooperation with a vent passage and seats firmly on the vent passage while water flows in the first direction, but unseats from the vent passage permitting the water to flow out of the valve, through the vent passage to the atmosphere when a back flow condition occurs, i.e., namely, when the water flows in a direction opposite to the first direction.

摘要： A vending machine is provided for packaging a plurality of articles into a unitary package. This vending machine includes a packaging area and a packer. The packer affixes a carrier to the discrete articles in the packaging area to form the package. The formed package is then discharged from the vending machine. The present vending machine therefore provides for forming a plurality of articles into a package within a single vending machine. A consumer can select what articles, such as different brands of beverage containers, which are combined to form the package. Also, the number of articles for each package can be selected by the consumer.

摘要： A cooler has a housing with a plurality of rotatable shelves. The shelves can move from an interior portion of the housing to an exposed exterior portion adjacent a discharge port of the cooler. The cooler is doorless so that access and viewing of the products in the port are unobstructed. An interior storage area is provided in the cooler for replenishment of removed products. An escapement mechanism can automatically load products from the storage area to empty slots on the periphery of the rotating shelf. Efficient cooling of the products is obtained. The shelves of the cooler can be rotated at the same or different speeds and/or directions. This merchandising cooler will not blend in with its surrounding environment to thereby attract a consumer's attention.
