Abstract:
The present invention provides systems and methods for signal cancellation with a receiver. The receiver comprises a discretizer configured for generating digital signals at different resolutions from a received analog signal. Processing fingers of the receiver generate spreading codes from at least one of the digital signals while a Coded Signal Processing Engine (“CSPE”) substantially cancels interference from at least another one of the digital signals. The spreading codes are transferred to the CSPE where they may be used to construct an interference matrix. One or more cancellation operators may be generated and subsequently applied to the digital signal(s) input to the CSPE to substantially cancel the interference therefrom. The CSPE may adjust the number of bits of the substantially interference cancelled signal(s) to meet a requisite bit width or dynamic range of the receiver. The substantially cancelled signal(s) is then transferred to the processing fingers for further processing.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are provided for dispensing chemical material, and in particular, granular, agricultural material, from a moving device driven over terrain to be treated with the material. A metering system for dispersing the material includes on apertured metering disk positioned above a rotatable impeller. The apertured disk meters material from a product container, by gravity feed, onto the impeller below at a rate proportional to the linear speed at which the apparatus is driven to dispense material at a uniform density over the terrain. The metering disk is a component of a product container which is removably mounted to the device. The impeller rotates at a constant speed to disperse the deposited material at a uniform distance from the apparatus, and the position on which the material is deposited on the impeller is adjustable. A clutch permits the user to discontinue dispensing material from the device at the selection of the user, and automatically discontinues dispensing of material when the apparatus is driven in a reverse direction. Switches are provided for selectively adjusting the speed of rotation of the impeller, and the pattern at which material is propelled from the impeller. An override clutch permits the impeller to rotate after movement of the apparatus ceases, and a clutch housing is provided to reduce noise during operation of the apparatus.
Abstract:
A weed protector has a body of flexible foam material. The hook portions of the fishing hooks pushes on the outer surface or extend into grooves in the body. When a fish strikes, it can collapse the form exposing the barbed ends of the hooks to the fish's mouth. The body can compress axially to accommodate different sized shanks. The shanks of the hook are attached by a ring to a connector which extends out of the front end of the body, and the flexible foam material permits the connector and the hook to pivot somewhat with respect to each other. The front end of the body is tapered to deflect weed and other debris. The front may have a separate, hard cap that prevents weeds from engaging the front of the body.
Abstract:
The various technologies presented herein relate to detection of a lock is being tampered with, cut, removed, etc. An electrical circuit can be incorporated into a lock portion and a securing portion (e.g., a bar, a cable, etc.) of the lock. The electrical circuit can include a conductive element located along the length of the bar, cable, etc., with an electrical charge applied to the conductive element. Upon damage to the conductive element, e.g., during an attempt to cut or remove the lock, a change in the electrical charge from an initial state can be determined, which can further generate an alarm. The alarm can be a light, speaker, etc. An alarm notification can be transmitted from the lock to a remote device, e.g., a mobile phone, a central monitoring system, etc. A trembler switch can be incorporated into the lock to detect movement of the lock.
Abstract:
Authenticating a user is disclosed. An indication that a portal user wants to access a docbase is received. A non-user-specific credential is used to log in to the docbase on behalf of the portal user. Optionally, the docbase is configured to limit the portal user's access to the docbase, during times when the non-user-specific credential has been used to log in to the docbase on behalf of the portal user, to an extent of access that is associated with a user-specific data associated with the portal user.
Abstract:
Extracting and synchronizing an Enterprise Portal application resource types and properties of business objects located in repository is disclosed. The repository is queried without human intervention to determine business object type information and for each business object type its associated properties. A representation of the business object types and associated properties in a format that facilitates synchronization with the enterprise portal application is generated.
Abstract:
A system and method schedules splittable work orders to provide customers with requested service and efficiently utilize service resources. The method includes forming a list of appointment windows for days on which service may be performed. A request for service from a customer is identified as being a splittable work order. The splittable work order is assigned a job duration required to complete the order and a split time less than the job duration. An appointment window on a first day during which a portion of the service may be scheduled is determined. The appointment window is for the split time in duration. At least one appointment window on a subsequent day or days during which the remainder of the service may be scheduled is then determined. The splittable work order is scheduled by assigning the work order to the determined appointment windows on the determined first and subsequent days.
Abstract:
A molding apparatus and method for creating a molded object that incorporate a mold with a mold cavity, a mold core disposed within the mold cavity, and a reciprocating sleeve insertable between the mold core and the mold cavity. The apparatus and method include injecting molten plastic between the core and the sleeve forming a preform object, then retracting the sleeve and expanding the preform object by blow molding, using pressurized fluid provided through jets in the mold core, until the object expands to fill the mold cavity. The apparatus and method further include thermal conditioning of the sleeve when it is retracted to create a temperature profile in the sleeve that is then applied to the preform object, thereby providing finer control of the temperature profile of the preform object before the final blow molding step.
Abstract:
A single tool easily secures a nut to anchor a sink in a fixed location and to connect two water lines to the faucet, all performed in a limited space. The use of a single elongated pipe having a plurality of grip bars projecting from an exterior surface assists in grabbing, holding and twisting of the pipe. The pipe has two integral sockets at opposite ends of the pipe.
