Abstract: A scale assessment system and a method for performing a scale deposit assessment that includes a scale solution flow loop. The scale assessment system also includes an insulated temperature controlled scale solution holding tank, a scale deposit assessment flow loop, a scale inhibitor flow loop, and/or a measurement and control unit configured to determine one or more of an amount of scale deposit in a plurality of connected U-shaped test pipes and an amount of scale inhibitor required to prevent scale deposit in the plurality of connected U-shaped test pipes.

Abstract: A multiphase flow calibration semi-closed loop system includes an oil-gas-water separation unit, a multiphase flow calibration unit, a single phase flow calibration section, a gas flow section, a flow data acquisition unit, and a programmable logic controller (PLC). The system is designed to have a two-step calibration process. In a first step, single phase water flow meters and single phase oil flow meters of the system are calibrated independently. In a second step, multiphase flow meters or multiphase water cut meters are calibrated using the pre-calibrated water flow meter, pre-calibrated oil flow meter, and the pre-calibrated gas flow meter. In doing so, the oil-gas-water separation unit, the multiphase flow calibration unit, the single phase flow calibration section, and the gas flow section communicate with the flow data acquisition unit providing real time data. Thus, the PLC connected to the flow data acquisition unit can perform the required calibration processes.

Abstract: A structural, load-bearing panel useful in constructing multistory buildings may have a panel height, panel width, and panel thickness, and may include a first layer comprising at least 75 wt. % of concrete, relative to a total weight of the first layer; an insulation layer comprising flexible polymer, the insulation layer having a thickness of at least 5 cm; and a second layer comprising at least 75 wt. % concrete, wherein the insulation layer is sandwiched between the first and second layers, and wherein the panel is suitable to be set in any of a planar, curved, and polyhedral cross-sectional shape. Set panels are not flexible, though the flexibility of the insulation layer, particularly of a polyethylene foam, may allow the panel to have a curved, or polyhedral cross-section while still serving as a structural support.
