Abstract: A vessel has a compartment (34) for containing water, which compartment (34) has at least one opening (31) in a wall (30) thereof for allowing water to pass therethrough. The compartment (34) comprises an assembly (1) of a grating (10) and at least one anti-biofouling source (20), the grating (10) being positioned in the opening (31) for blocking items from passing through the opening (31) along with the water, and comprising a number of elements and spaces between the elements, and the anti-biofouling source (20) being configured to emit ultraviolet light during operation thereof for realizing anti-biofouling of at least a portion of the grating (10). At least one of the elements of the grating (10) is at least partially transparent to the ultraviolet light, enabling a design of the assembly (1) in which anti-biofouling of the entire grating (10) may be guaranteed.

Abstract: The invention provides an anti-fouling lighting system (1) configured for preventing or reducing biofouling on a fouling element (1201) of an object (1200). The fouling element (1201) is during use at least partly moving and at least temporarily exposed to water. Fouling is prevented by irradiating an anti-fouling light (211) onto said fouling element (1201). The anti-fouling lighting (1) system comprises at least one laser light source (2) configured to generate the anti-fouling light (211) and to provide said anti-fouling light (211) to said fouling element (1201) during use, wherein the system (1) is arranged such that during use the fouling element (1201) at least partly moves with respect to the laser light source (2).

Abstract: A light emitting arrangement (100) is provided for realizing anti-fouling of a surface (30) of a marine structure. The light emitting arrangement is shaped in sheet form and has an optical medium (4) and a light source (20) embedded in the optical medium and configured to emit anti-fouling light from an emission surface (301). The light emitting arrangement has at least one mirror configured to reflect anti-fouling light from the light source towards the emission surface. The mirror is arranged near or at the back surface and is electrically conductive and coupled to the light source for constituting a first electrode (120) arranged for transfer of electrical power between the light source and a power source. For example, the mirror forms a capacitor (6) in combination with an external electrically conductive element (50) and a dielectric layer (4a).
