    Abstract: A sea water intake riser system for a floating production unit, including a caisson having a through-opening in a bottom side and being connectable to an upper end of a riser pipe; a lift pump inside the caisson and having an inlet at a vertical distance with a predetermined minimum submergence for pumping cold water from the caisson up to the floating production unit for use as cooling medium, wherein the sea water intake riser system includes at least two caissons, having a height substantially equal to a vertical height of a hull of the floating production unit and including an open top side; each caisson extending from a predetermined minimum distance from the bottom side of the hull up to at least the water-line during use and wherein a sump tank is located between the bottom side of the hull and the at least two caissons.

    Abstract: A remote monitoring method, performed at a central location by a controller associated with the central location, for use with multiple remotely located boats is described involving determining, based upon first location information, second location information and tide information, whether a water-fed air conditioner of a first boat or a water-fed air conditioner of a second boat should be shut off or turned back on due to tide-caused depth changes at a first location or second location. A controller for a boat has at least one processor; and programming which, when executed will cause the at least one processor to, when the boat's air conditioner is operating, cause at least a water pump pumping water to the condenser to shut off at a time, based upon a depth at the current location of the boat of less than a specified minimum acceptable depth.

    Abstract: A heat exchange system for use on an engine-powered watercraft includes a liquid cooling system for cooling the engine using a first heat exchanger and a water heating system using a second heat exchanger for heating water. Raw water from an external water source is passed through each heat exchanger. Water used to cool the engine coolant inside the first heat exchanger exits the watercraft. Water heated by the second heat exchanger is passed to either an intake conduit or at least one onboard accessory system for flushing thereof to kill aquatic invasive species. A valve inside the second heat exchanger opens to release heated water when the heated water reaches a temperature of at least 140° F. Heated coolant from the first heat exchanger passes through the second heat exchanger to transfer heat to the water inside the second heat exchanger.
