摘要： A process cartridge detachably mountable to a main assembly of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus, wherein the main assembly includes a motor, a main assembly side gear for receiving driving force from the motor and a non-twisted recess which is substantially coaxial with the gear, the process cartridge includes an electrophotographic photosensitive drum; a process device actable on the photosensitive drum; and a non-twisted projection engageable with the recess, the projection being provided at a longitudinal end of the photosensitive drum, wherein when the main assembly side gear rotates with the recess and projection engaged with each other, rotational driving force is transmitted from the gear to the photosensitive drum through engagement between the recess and the projection.

摘要： A process cartridge detachably mountable to a main assembly of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus includes an electrophotographic photosensitive drum; charging means for electrically charging the drum; developing means for developing a latent image formed on the drum; a grounding contact for electrically grounding the drum to the main assembly; a developing bias contact for receiving, from the main assembly, a developing bias to be applied to the developing means; a charging bias contact for receiving, from the main assembly, a charging bias to be applied to the charging means; and a cartridge coupling member for receiving, from the main assembly, driving force for rotating the drum, the cartridge coupling member being engaged with a main assembly coupling member of the apparatus when the main assembly coupling member is rotated after the process cartridge is mounted. The cartridge coupling member is substantially coaxial with the drum adjacent one longitudinal end of the drum. The grounding, developing bias and charging bias contacts are disposed adjacent a longitudinal end of the drum opposite from the cartridge coupling member. The developing bias and charging bias contacts are each disposed on a side of the process cartridge that extends in a longitudinal direction, to one and the other side of the drum. The grounding contact is substantially coaxial with the drum.

It comprises an electrophotographic photosensitive member, a developing sleeve for supplying magnetic toner to the electrophotographic photosensitive member to develop a latent image formed on the electrophotographic photosensitive member, a magnet disposed within the developing sleeve, and an electrode member for supplying electricity from the image forming apparatus to the developing sleeve when the process cartridge is mounted to the image forming apparatus. 摘要： An electrophotographic photosensitive drum supporting apparatus for rotatably supporting a photosensitive drum includes a first supporting member having a first hole for supporting one end of the drum, and first and second surfaces on one side and the other side of the first supporting member relative to an imaginary plane passing through the axis of the drum, respectively. The first and second surfaces are inclined with respect to the plane so as to contact with the drum and are provided on the inner surface of the first hole. The apparatus also includes a second supporting member having a second hole for supporting the other end of the drum, and a third and a fourth surfaces on one side and the other side of the second supporting member relative to the plane, respectively. The third and fourth surfaces are inclined with respect to the plane so as to contact with the drum and are provided on the inner surface of the second hole. The apparatus also includes a plurality of process members provided in contact with the drum. The direction of the resultant force of a force acting on the drum by the plurality of process members is a direction in which the drum is urged against the first and second inclined surfaces and against the third and fourth inclined surfaces.
