摘要： A protecting cover and a pickup device, each having a hooking portion, are rotatably provided at the flank of an image forming apparatus. The rotational centers of the protecting cover and the pickup device and the hooking portions are arranged in such geometry that the hooking portions become engaged with each other only in the range from a predetermined trace intersection to the flank of the image forming apparatus when the protecting cover is rotated from its usage position toward its retracted position at the flank of the image forming apparatus. The pickup device is stopped at the starting position of engagement where the hooking portions are positioned at the trace intersection when sheet feed is not made, and is moved to the operating position when sheet feed is to be made. The protecting cover is constructed so as to rotate in linkage with the rotation of a paper feed tray which is rotatably provided at the flank of the image forming apparatus.

摘要： A weight detector for detecting the weight of a passenger seated on a vehicle seat includes a first load sensor and a second load sensor provided on opposite sides of a rear portion of the vehicle seat. Each of the first and second load sensors has a predetermined detection range. The weight detector further includes a third load sensor and a fourth load sensor provided on opposite sides of a front portion of the vehicle seat. Each of the third and fourth load sensors has a predetermined detection range. If a detection value based on a load acquired by one of the first through fourth load sensors exceeds its detection range, the weight detector uses an old value that was determined under proper condition. Otherwise, the weight detector determines the size of the passenger based on the currently detected values.

The load detector includes a sensor bracket having a deformation portion that deforms in accordance with the amount of the load. A strain sensor is arranged on the deformation portion to detect the degree of deformation of the deformation portion. A force limiter bracket is located adjacent to the sensor bracket to limit deformation of the deformation portion within a predetermined range. An anchor bracket is formed integrally with the force limiter bracket and is connected to a seat belt.

摘要： A side airbag is housed together with an inflator containing a high pressure gas as a module in a door-side side portion of a seat. The side airbag is deployed into a space between the door and an occupant sitting in the seat, on the basis of an instruction signal from an airbag control device. An occupant sensor is disposed at a position that is located in an upper portion of a seatback of the seat and shifted from a center of the seatback with respect to directions of a width thereof toward a vehicle body center. By using the occupant sensor, it is determined whether an occupant is present at a seat of a vehicle, excluding a case where an occupant having a constitution smaller than a predetermined constitution is leaning against the side vehicle body portion. The airbag control device permits operation of the side airbag if presence of an occupant is detected by the occupant sensor. The control device prohibits operation of the side airbag if absence of an occupant is detected by the occupant sensor.

摘要： Developing devices are provided adjacent to a light sensitive element. An intermediate transfer drum is provided adjacent to the light sensitive elements. After exposure of the light sensitive element, a first color or third color image is formed on the light sensitive element. On the other hand, after exposure of the light sensitive element, a second color or fourth color image can be formed on the light sensitive element. The first color image is transferred from the transfer unit to the intermediate transfer drum at the first transfer portion, and the second color image is transferred from the transfer unit at the second transfer portion so as to be superimposed on the first color image. Similarly, the third color image is transferred so as to be superimposed on the second image and the fourth color image is transferred so as to be superimposed on the third color image to the intermediate transfer drum. Accordingly, the first to fourth color images are superimposed. Thereby, downsizing of the device and cost reduction are achieved and image formation speed is facilitated.

When the leading end of the card C is brought into contact with the lower edges of contact portions of a shutter member, the shutter member is pivoted about the front end sides of arm portions. A shutter plate arranged on the rear end side of the shutter member is moved upward to allow the card C having the predetermined thickness to pass deep. If a card C' having a thickness smaller than the predetermined thickness enters, a regulation portion projecting from the lower portion of the shutter plate of the shutter member is located lower than the bottom surface of a card passage. The leading end of the card C' having the smaller thickness is brought into contact with the regulation portion to prevent the card C' from entering deep. Even if the thin card C' is forcibly inserted, downward movement of the leading end of the card C' is regulated by the regulation portion, thereby preventing passage of the card C' and a card jam.

摘要： A card retrieval system in which each card is provided at its one peripheral edge with a magnetic strip which includes a unique notch structure for the purpose of retrieving individual cards. A plurality of selector bars are positioned in a manner to meet at right angles to a stack of the cards, while a magnet is positioned against the magnetic strips of the stacked cards. By the attracting force of the magnet, a specific card is slightly drawn out from the card stack in cooperation with the selector bars and the notch structure. Subsequent to this, locking members are operative to preclude the drawing out of the other cards and the plurality of the selector bars are withdrawn over the retrieved card transportation course. In this manner, the retrieval of a specific card is accomplished by the magnet.
