Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes an intermediate transfer belt and a developer unit. The image forming apparatus includes a cooling unit, a cleaning roller, and an auxiliary brush. The cooling unit cools a predetermined component by sending air by a fan inside the image forming apparatus. The cleaning roller removes remaining toner on the intermediate transfer belt at an upstream side of a region facing the developer unit in a rotationally moving direction of the intermediate transfer belt and at an upstream side of a region with which the image carrier is in contact in the intermediate transfer belt. The auxiliary brush located on an outer surface of the developer unit so as to close the clearance between the intermediate transfer belt and the developer unit and is in contact with the intermediate transfer belt to clean the intermediate transfer belt.
Abstract:
A development cartridge and an electrophotographic image forming apparatus using the same are provided. The development cartridge includes a reception unit including at least one auger. A toner supply unit is disposed on the reception unit and connects a toner cartridge with the reception unit. A transfer means transfers the toner supplied from the toner cartridge to the reception unit. The transfer means engages the at least one auger, and includes a plurality of main wings arranged radially about a rotation axis.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus may includes an image carrying body, a intermediate transferring unit which includes an intermediate transferring belt to which a visible image on the image carrying body is transferred, a driving roller to drive the intermediate transferring belt, and a first roller support unit to support a rotation shaft of the driving roller. The image-forming apparatus also includes a medium transferring unit to transfer a visible image on the intermediate transferring belt to a printing medium and includes a transferring roller to move between a pressing position pressing the driving roller to interpose the intermediate transferring belt therebetween and a separated position separated from the pressing position, and a second roller support unit to support a rotation shaft of the transferring roller. The pressing position of the transferring roller can be regulated by a contact of the first roller support unit and the second roller support unit.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a carrier; a forming unit that forms a pattern on the carrier; a correcting unit that executes a plurality of correction processes for image formation by measuring the pattern formed on the carrier by the forming unit; and an issuing unit that has issuing conditions corresponding to the correction processes and issues execution requests indicating execution timings of the correction processes satisfying the issuing conditions, wherein the correcting unit executes only one correction process, of which the execution request is issued, when another correction process is not issued at the execution timing of the one correction process, and wherein the correcting unit executes the one correction process and the another correction process in a prescribed order regardless of the execution timings indicated by the execution requests when the another correction process is issued at the execution timing of the one correction process.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member configured to bear an image on a surface thereof, a transfer unit configured to transfer the image formed on the surface of the image bearing member onto a recording medium, a bias applying unit configured to apply a bias voltage to the transfer unit to remove a developer adhered on a surface of the transfer unit to the surface of the image bearing member, a detecting unit configured to detect a width of the recording medium in a sheet conveyance direction, and a control unit configured to determine whether a cleaning operation of the transfer unit is performed, based on the width of the recording medium detected by the detecting unit and a number of the recording medium printed.
Abstract:
A registration system suited to use in an imaging system, such as an inkjet printer, includes a first measuring device, such as an encoder, which provides information for monitoring a speed of a moving image receiving surface of the imaging system, such as a paper web. A second measuring device, such as a second encoder or a tension measuring device, provides information for monitoring a tension in the image receiving surface. A control system determines an actuation time for one of two marking stations, based on the information from the first and second measuring devices. This enables a registration of images applied to the image receiving surface by the two marking stations to take into account both changes in speed of the web and changes in tension in the web.
Abstract:
A full color image developing device for a color printer is disclosed, in which a black developing unit employs a magnetic one-component developing system, and color developing units (except for black) employ a non-magnetic one-component toner. The diameters of the non-magnetic developing rollers are set smaller than those of the magnetic developing roller. This configuration makes it possible to extend the lifespan of the color printer as well as reduce the size and cost thereof.
Abstract:
A color image forming apparatus capable of preventing an image skew by maintaining parallelism of scanning directions between respective photosensitive mediums and between the photosensitive medium and a transfer belt within a certain range. The color image forming apparatus includes an ITU/OPC cartridge, as a single unit, wherein a plurality of photosensitive mediums (OPC) and an intermediate transfer unit (ITU) are integrally mounted. In the ITU/OPC cartridge, an OPC frame and the ITU frame respectively supporting the OPC and the ITU are separably connected, so that the OPC and the ITU having different lifespan can be independently replaced.
Abstract:
In a belt apparatus used for image formation structured such that processing unit used for image formation are placed around a belt extended between at least two rollers and at least one of the processing unit acts on a roller so as to impart a rotational load thereto, it is possible to avoid a reduction in the image quality of a transfer image on the belt caused by the roller that supports the belt receiving variations in the load due to the movement towards or away from the belt of a cleaning blade. A drive source is connected to the roller to which directly receiving the load variation making this roller the drive roller for the belt.
